Delilah Barnes, 5’3″, PG, Lawrence (KS), 2023 – The Chesty Lions have themselves a swift point guard who handles well in traffic.
Emari Doby Emari Doby 5'9" | SG Shawnee Heights | 2023 State KS , 5’9″, SF, Shawnee Heights (KS), 2023 – Three years running Doby has attended and impacted a PGH Top 250 event. With good size, speed, quickness, and athleticism Doby is a mismatch for a large number of players. For one, she has an all-around offensive game with smarts to use her body to protect shots inside that would be automatic leather-eating time for most guards. Defensively, her length; size; quickness; and athleticism enables her to disrupt players and a variety of plays.
Anonda Ford, 5’8″, SF, University Academy (MO), 2025 – I witnessed the strength, persistence, and athleticism of Ford but lead Missouri scout Earl Austin shared some great specifics in his article about high motor players from the event. He praised her disruptiveness as a defender with “size and athleticism to also rebound and attack the basket against taller defenders.” He described a telling sequence where she saved a ball from going out of bounds and getting three offensive rebounds in the same play.
Isabelle Haggard Isabelle Haggard 5'5" | PG Washburn Rural | 2025 KS , 5’4″, CG, Washburn Rural (KS), 2025 – Haggard is a quick guard who competes consistently hard on both ends. Goes end-to-end with speed.
Kinley Hammitt Kinley Hammitt 5'7" | CG Nixa | 2023 MO , 5’7″, CG, Nixa (MO), 2023 – My Missouri colleague Earl Austin had a great deal to say about Hammitt. He described her as a “solid young guard who was very effective at attacking the basket. Her fundamentals were good and she used good footwork to free herself up to score on her drives to the basket. She moved well without the basketball to the open spots to hit perimeter jumpers.”
Foster Nichols Foster Nichols 5'8" | CG Ottawa | 2024 State KS , 5’7″, SG, Ottawa (KS), 2024 – Nichols has a good build with solid quickness and athleticism. Working the length of the floor she handles well in traffic with speed. Unafraid to finish expecting to get hit.
Madison Shaw Madison Shaw 5'7" | SG Mulvane | 2024 State KS , 5’7″, CG, Mulvane (KS), 2024 – Shaw was among the few players who consistently looked to box out and she especially did a solid job on perimeter players when shots away from the ball went up. On the other end she quietly makes opponents doing the Superman spotting look bad by slipping in for put-backs. My colleague Phillipe McCree noted that she ran the floor well and showed good vision. He also felt she always seemed to be around the ball either defensively or rebounding and that as the day progressed she got more comfortable and aggressive.
Clara Swearingen Clara Swearingen 5'4" | PG Nevada | 2024 State MO – 5’6″, SG, Nevada (MO), 2024 – The collective scouting trio feels Swearingen has terrific core abilities like a quick trigger on her jumper, good handles, shot creation ability for her shot, good footwork on both ends, and good elevation on her jumper. Throw in a solid IQ and you have a terrific shooter who can hit the three ball with range and hit her jumper off the catch or the step-back move. She is slick and creative with her handles and is always looking for spots to exploit in defenses. With that ability she uses her solid passing ability to get teammates good looks. And with her feet, she is also a capable defender.
Naomi White Naomi White 5'9" | CG Bellevue West | 2024 NE , 5’8″, PG/SG, Derby (KS), 2024 – White was among the group of young guards from Derby High School who showed their stuff at the event and showed that the competition for playing time at the varsity level is stiff. The solidly built White has good handles and three point range but her athleticism and downhill speed with the ball produced very strong, big strides on finishes with elevation.
