The evaluations of all ten teams are blends of notes from my colleagues Earl Austin, Phillipe McCree, and me. Special thanks to Shane Barkley for contributing as well.
Jaley Barkley Jaley Barkley 5'7" | PG Cair Paravel Latin School | 2022 State KS , 5’7″, PG, Cair Paravel (KS), 2022 – Barkley made a defensive statement this event by being one of the few players who effectively and consistently took away the baseline drive once the ball handler committed to it. Using her lateral quicks and smarts to get there and her length to disrupt the vision of said stuck ball handler, she created opportunities for her teammates to generate turnovers. Barkley also show range on her three ball and a solid trigger to get it off from the catch and a solid first step. Phillipe – Good energy, not afraid to attack the basket. Has a variety of finishes. Was always around the ball.
Carli Carlson Carli Carlson 5'8" | SG Clearwater | 2023 State KS , 5’8″, CG, Clearwater (KS), 2023 – Carlson shot well from the perimeter and showed consistent range. Active with and without the ball Carlson has a solid, athletic build to defend and rebound with physicality. She also has handles to get to the basket with speed and finishing ability with both hands.
Maxine Doering Maxine Doering 5'8" | SG Manhattan | 2024 State KS , 5’8″, SF, Manhattan (KS), 2024 – Looks to post inside. Phillipe – Was able to sit down and lock up defensively. Plays bigger than her 5’8 frame. Posts smaller guards and defends bigger players. Rebounds on both ends at a high level.
SaMiyah Ellis SaMiyah Ellis 5'8" | PG Wichita Heights | 2025 State KS , 5’7″, PG, Sunrise Christian Academy (KS), 2025 – Ellis has the handles and quickness to get to the basket and can finish with athleticism but needs to protect the ball better to prevent the strip or rip. Split defenders with athleticism. In flow Ellis was able to bury the three-ball with range.
Aaliyah Moss Aaliyah Moss 5'10" | CG Gardner Edgerton | 2024 State KS , 5’10”, SF, Gardner Edgerton (KS), 2024 – Phillipe McCree noted that “as a bigger guard, showed the ability to overpower smaller guard to the basket. Did a good job of playing passing lanes and getting easy baskets.”
Natalie Nitz Natalie Nitz 5'3" | PG Atchison County | 2023 State KS , 5’3″, PG, Atchison Community (KS), 2023 – Nitz was a consistent perimeter threat who can shoot it from deep.
Ashley Singhateh Ashley Singhateh 5'8" | PG Maize South | 2024 State KS , 5’7″, PG, Eureka (KS), 2024 – Strong builld, fast and athletic with the ball, very quick, finishes with speed on both sides of the basket, hit the perimeter jumper with range off the catch. Phillipe – Really good in transition. Nice euro move. Had a really pretty spin move and finish in the half court. Also rebounds the ball at a high level with the ability to finish in traffic.
Amya Weakley Amya Weakley 5'5" | PG OKC Storm | 2022 State OK , 5’5″, CG, Oklahoma City Storm (OK), 2022 – Weakley has strong handles and the ability to change gears against pressure. Heady to find open shooters. Very quick. Stocky build. Finishes athletically and with speed.
