Prep Girls Hoops New Jersey has been highlighting teams and prospects up and down the state leading up to the season, and we’re continuing that in this article.
We go back to the 2022 class to look at the No. 32-34 seniors in New Jersey as ranked by our PGH NJ team.
No. 32: Georgia Heine Georgia Heine 5'10" | SG Manasquan | 2022 State NJ – 5-10 SG, Manasquan
Heine has been a consistent presence for Manasquan her entire entire high school career, nearly putting up a double-digit scoring average in her junior year this spring.
The UPenn commit has shown glimpses of someone who can be a double-double machine and a game-changing player on the floor and her work over the summer with Team Rio has paid dividends toward her overall game.
She has such great raw talent and untapped potential in her game, especially from beyond the arc and on the defensive side of the ball. Her senior year is going to be key going into college, so watch out for what is sure to be a standout campaign.
No. 33: Rachel Gordon Rachel Gordon 5'9" | SG Teaneck | 2022 State NJ – 5-9 SG, Teaneck
Gordon was as good as it gets for Teaneck in her junior year, averaging 14.7 PPG, 7.2 RPG, 2.2 SPG and 1.8 made threes a game. She led the team in scoring, was second in rebounding and three-point shooting and third in steals.
Her statistics across her high school career have been very consistent, highlighting the fact that she’s an excellent perimeter shooter who gets separation on the floor and finds her spots to shoot without hesitation.
Getting back to normalcy with a full season will be beneficial for her as she looks to join Teaneck’s 1000 point club before the season’s end. It’s well within grasp as her senior year will be one where she’s going to be a nightmare to face off against.
No. 34: Jules Vassallo Jules Vassallo 5'9" | SG Pascack Valley | 2022 State NJ – 5-9 SG, Pascack Valley
When you think of impact players in North Jersey and the Big North Conference, Vassallo has elevated her game to join that conversation. Her junior season was the difference maker for her as she averaged 12.6 PPG for Pascack Valley.
We’ve seen continued growth from her year-to-year and this summer on the AAU circuit, Vassallo was a force to be reckoned with on the court, a dynamic, multifaceted guard with an impressive long-range game.
Vassallo made just over two three-pointers a game for Pascack Valley in the spring, slightly above her previous career-high in high school. Her game has come a long way from her freshman year, so her senior send-off will be a massive statement for the region.
