Continue ReadingSlinger was the class of the North Shore a season ago, finishing 14-4. With the player of the year Clare Diener Clare Diener 5'10" | SG Cedarburg | 2022 State WI returning for her senior season with Cedarburg, they can leap to the top of the conference. Even with three seniors graduating after finishing first-team all-conference, there is plenty of talent to be highlighted.
Mallory Hoitink Mallory Hoitink 5'10" | SG Slinger | 2023 State WI -5/10 G/F-’23-Slinger: Hoitink played an efficient offensive season a season ago. She shot 38% from the field, and 39% from three. She rebounded her position well with five and a half rebounds per game for the Hawks. She has a great touch with both hands when she gets into the paint. Hoitink also plays thin on drives, getting into small spaces that you don’t even comprehend on film at times. She’s a very well-rounded offensive player who is a tweener size-wise defensively. She is a good prospect because of the potential for her to be a switchable defender.
Reagan Pahl Reagan Pahl 5'6" | CG Cedarburg | 2023 State WI -5’6 G-’23-Cedarburg: Pahl is a versatile offensive threat. She is a player who uses the triple-threat position well. She can drive with both hands, especially when getting to the rim. Pahl finishes with both hands. She participated at the PGH Top 250 Expo, where her ability as a shooter shined. Pahl didn’t get to show her creativity on the ball. She posted a positive assist to turnover ratio last season and was near the top of the conference in assists. Pahl is solid overall, with room to grow her final two years at Cedarburg.
Cadence Xiong Cadence Xiong 5'1" | PG West Bend East | 2023 State WI -5’1 G-’23-West Bend East: The main takeaway from Xiong’s game is her aggressiveness with the ball. Another participant at the Top 250 Expo. Xiong showed her ability as a creator. She is an example of how assists are not always the end all be all when judging creators. Xiong creates good looks for her teammates, but if teammates don’t score, it’s not an assist for Xiong. She has a lot of moves to create space to operate for herself, which makes her a fun watch.
Delaney Buzzell Delaney Buzzell 5'8" | CG Homestead | 2023 WI -5’9 G-’23-Homestead: Buzzell led Highlanders in scoring a season ago with 12.8 a game. She also led her team with close to eight rebounds. Her ability to rebound is also valuable in her position. She was good efficiency-wise last season. However, it is something I hope she can improve on to take that next step offensively.
