Tianna has good length at the wing position that accompanies a good skillset. She has a nice handle and displayed some crafty moves getting to the rack during camp. She showed her ability to knock down the trey ball. She is a playmaker that can fill up the stat sheet in the scoring column. She is a threat with the ball in her hands and often creates plays when multiple defenders’ eyes are busy on her, and as a result, lose sight of their own assignment. She reads the floor well and makes plays based off of those reads. She is a two-way wing that creates a lot of possibilities on the court. If T continues to develop as I think she will, she will be able to defend across three maybe more positions and do it effectively. With her length and the tools in her toolbox, she can adapt to any system on the offensive end of the floor.
When I think about T’s game in a few years and what she will bring to the next level, I would sum it up in one word: OPTIONS.
She will give a coach at the next level a lot of options in ways to play on both ends of the court. Opportunities for Growth: Tianna has to get stronger, so I encourage her to develop a plan for the weight room and commit to it after the season is over. This upcoming season, until she starts on her plan to get stronger, she will have to focus on finishing thru contact and doing her best at it, as that is an area she will need to grow in as well. It may have been due to fatigue during camp, but T seemed to take a step back at times and became a spectator on the floor. She is too much of a factor to take that posture on the court at any time. Keep pushing T, and give it 100% every second you are in between those lines; the future is bright!

Let me just say that several people had asked had I seen #33 and were asking my thoughts. At the time they had asked, I had yet to see #33, which was KD. When I finally got around to watching her play, it was either her last game of the day or her next to last, and I could tell that she was fatigued. However, she still gave a glimpse of what she brings to the court. She is a two-way wing that gets it done on both ends of the floor. Her length helps her play the passing lane on D, and even though a little fatigued, she was still stealing the rock and getting easy buckets on the other end. She has an excellent physical profile and has tools for playing on the perimeter and in the post.
She was active on the glass and pushed the rock hard in transition at times.
I was impressed with her floater game, which prevented her from over penetrating, leading to turnovers, which I saw a lot during camp. There was a lot of buzz in the gym about Carrollton High School and the possibilities with a more experienced and confident Kanija headed into the season. It will not take long for us to see what Carrollton can accomplish this year, but one thing is for sure, they have a player in KD that makes them a threat any night they step into a gym. Opportunities for Growth: As mentioned, it was KD’s last game of the day, or next to last, so I am not sure how much energy she exerted earlier in the day, so I would not be doing her justice to comment on that aspect of what I saw. I do encourage KD to continue working on her consistency from beyond the arc.

I absolutely loved watching Caroline play at the #PGHTop250. She is an overall solid player with a brilliant floor game. She has a game that complements everyone around her. Offensively she can shoot the three, create a shot, and generate high-percentage scoring opportunities. She played well in p&r action as the ball-handler and made some high IQ plays coming off the screen.
She has next-level decision-making ability, good court vision, is a good passer, and simply just does a lot of things on the court exceptionally well.
She is not the most athletic out on the court, but her skill set, knowledge of the game, and how to play proved to be effective throughout camp. Opportunities for Growth: I mentioned that Caroline is not the most athletic player I saw at camp, which created some challenges for her when she had to defend some of the more athletic wings. I encourage her to continue working on that end of the court. Study how to cut off angles, then learn the art of recognizing opponents’ offensive weaknesses, then force them to play from those weaknesses. You have to learn this early in the game when you don’t have film to prepare you.

Taliah, despite being 5’7, was one of the best finishers at the rim that I saw at camp. She played with a lot of passion and kept coming regardless of the scoreboard. She definitely can create offense off the bounce, as she stayed in the paint, finishing or hitting open teammates. She exploited mismatches as she was just too quick for many who tried to defend her. What was really great to see in T’s game was her feel to know when to defer versus when to take over and go for hers.
When the ball is in her hand, she is a threat, as she is quick off the bounce, and she does not mind the physical play that comes with attacking the paint.
Her on-ball D was tenacious. Opportunities for Growth: One thing that Taliah has to continue working on is her perimeter shooting.

Bella showed an extremely high IQ while I watched her play. She made winning plays time and time again. She is a player that has role flexibility which allows her to do multiple things on the court. She does not have to be ball-dominant, nor does she have to score to impact the game. Now don’t get me wrong, she can score the rock as she is aggressive off the bounce and can finish at the rim. She plays hard, yet poised and polished, on both ends of the court. She possesses fundamental elements to her game that make her a solid player that a coach can depend on.
She plays within herself that gives a coach peace of mind.
This season, spring/summer ball, then her senior season, will conclude her high school career; Bella is a player to keep an eye on to see if she can land a spot at the next level. Opportunities for Growth: Bella has to continue to work on her on-ball defense. She did not take many shots during the game that I saw, but I will be checking her out again to see more of her game on display.
I will be bringing you more coverage from #PGHTop250, so stay tuned.
