Team Carolina and Carolina Flames are joining forces this year which means you can see even more of the top talent in North Carolina playing in the same tournaments. Here are some of the athletes from the class of 2024 and 2025 that I got to see at their Southeast Elite Combine. <a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/10/Kornelia-Ignerska-scaled-crop-1921x1261-1633530988.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-336806 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/10/Kornelia-Ignerska-scaled-crop-1921x1261-1633530988-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a>Kornelia Ignerska | Rabun Gap | 2024 Ignerska is very quick with and without the ball, and she has a nice release with her shot. She makes good adjustments when driving the ball to draw the foul and still make the basket. She’s aggressive on defense knocking the ball away from her opponents when they’re trying to dribble by her. [player_tooltip player_id="275971" first="India" last="Smith"] | Asheville Christian Academy | 2024 Smith has the ball handling of a guard and the height to dominate in the paint. She has good range shooting the ball. She controls the energy of her team and makes sure to get everyone involved or pump them up when she shows off her shot. She’s a tenacious defender, too, making sure people do not get by her. Olivia Tucker | Panther Creek | 2024 It seems like there are very few ball moves that Tucker can’t do even at such a young age. She seems to be everywhere on defense converting those steals to offense driving it up the court. Opponents need to keep her close because she can certainly shoot from deep. [player_tooltip player_id="331375" first="Ashanti" last="Fox"] | O’Neal | 2025 Fox (pictured above) uses her quick feet and great ball handling to get by her opponents even throwing in some hesitation moves to make her way to the basket. She doesn’t shy away from contact even seeming to embrace it on her way to the hoop. Her fakes make sure she gets some space between her and her opponent to show off her own shot.
