Dekeira Clay 5’9″ Wichita South: This 2024 guard is like a whirlwind of activity and constant motion throughout the entire game. She stays in a relentless attack mode at both ends of the court without any let up. She’s physically strong and she is always looking to attack downhill at every opportunity. She’s also added a 3-point shot which makes her even more dangerous to guard. She also puts forth an equal effort on the defensive end, especially when she’s putting pressure on the ball out top.
Anonda Ford 5’9″ University Academy: During the day, I put up a clip on social media of her 15 second sequence when she stole the ball in the backcourt, saved the ball from going out of bounds and got three offensive rebounds on the same play. That was the kind of effort that this 2025 guard was showcasing throughout the camp. She was a very disruptive defender with the size and athleticism to also rebound and attack the basket against taller defenders.
Kya Johnson Kya Johnson 5'8" | SF Kickapoo | 2024 State MO 5’7″ Kickapoo: What gets this 2024 guard a spot on this list is that she is a point guard, yet she was one of the top rebounders that I watched during the day. It was uncanny how she was able to track down so many rebounds in the land of the bigs. It just comes down to having good anticipation and a strong will and desire to get the ball. It’s just something that you cannot teach.
Bettye Ray 5’7″ Lincoln Prep: A 2023 guard who physically strong and dials up the heavy activity the moment she steps on to the floor. She attacks the basket hard and doesn’t mind going on coast to coast drives after grabbing a defensive rebound. She is at home where the action is at all times.
