Last Saturday the Prep Girls Hoops Network held its third annual Top-250 Expo in Indiana, this time at the Noblesville Boys & Girls Club. There were 119 prospects in attendance, and I’ve already addressed a number of them in articles last week. With 16 teams and just three games per team, it made it difficult to watch most teams in-person for more than a half or so. However, below are some brief thoughts on the remaining prospects from Teams 5 through 8 and how those young ladies performed at the event.
TEAM-5:
Kirsten Clark Kirsten Clark 5'9" | SG Ben Davis | 2023 State IN , 2023, Ben Davis – Kirsten has always been an intriguing prospect because of her length, skill, and smooth style of play. She always plays with a nice motor, she has a soft lefty touch outside, but she’s now much stronger when attacking the basket.
Eva Dodds Eva Dodds 5'8" | SG New Prairie | 2023 IN , 2023, New Prairie – I discussed Eva’s development in the Spring, but she continues to build her perimeter skillset and looks more and more comfortable outside each time I see her. She has an athletically strong frame, and she plays with a nice motor.
Denyha Jacobs Denyha Jacobs 5'7" | SF Warren Central | 2024 State IN , 2024, Lawrence Central – Denyah gave the Bears good minutes as a Freshman, and I think she’ll be a nice rotation player again this season. She’s strong, physical, and assertive on the wing. She can handle it a little and score at all three levels.
Jilliann Vidoni, 2024, Evansville North – Jill has been injured at times throughout this past calendar year, so it was nice to see her in action. She’s a strong, physical presence in the paint, she has solid hands, some touch around the paint, and she plays with effort.
Makenzie Mason, 2025, Jeffersonville – This was my first time seeing Makenzie, and she’s built a little different than her older sister. Makenzie is a strong, physical wing, a solid all-around athlete, and a nice basketball player. She also shot it well when I saw her.
Taylor Seay Taylor Seay 5'8" | SF University | 2025 IN , 2025, University – Taylor is another prospect with an older sister in the 2023 class, and she too is built a little differently than her sister. Taylor has really nice length, she’s wiry-strong, bouncy and fluid. I felt like she brought good energy all day.
Team-6:
Olivia Brown Olivia Brown 5'7" | PG Hamilton Southeastern | 2023 State IN , 2023, Hamilton Southeastern – Olivia is a traditional point guard with a nice, natural feel for the game. She is one of the better passers and one of the better on-ball defenders in the class. She is a talented athlete as well, and she always plays hard.
Kaylee Rhoton Kaylee Rhoton 5'4" | SG Hamilton Heights | 2023 IN , 2023, Hamilton Heights – Kaylee is a strong, physical guard who plays with a solid basketball IQ. She is more of a ’2’ than a ’1’, but she does possess a balanced skillset. I just think she looks more comfortable on the wing knocking down jumpers.
Madisyn Bailey Madisyn Bailey 5'9" | PG Bedford North Lawrence | 2024 State IN , 2024, Bedford North Lawrence – Madisyn has the reputation of being one of those kids who runs through walls for her teams. She has nice skill, she can handle it and shoot it, playing multiple roles, but it’s her motor that always seems to stand out.
Sophie Johnson Sophie Johnson 6'0" | PF Evansville Memorial | 2024 State IN , 2024, Evansville Memorial – Sophie is a talented wing prospect who does a little of everything well. She can act as a point forward and create for herself or others, she can hit shots with range around the perimeter, and she can finish at the rim.
Madelyn Poynter Madelyn Poynter 5'10" | SF Lapel | 2024 State IN , 2024, Lapel – The 250 was my first opportunity to see Madelyn in action, and she showed a lot of promise as a younger prospect. She has great length, fluid athleticism, and a nice motor. She was very active and can play either forward position.
Kooper Stone Kooper Stone 6'0" | PF Danville Community | 2024 State IN , 2024, Danville Community – Kooper could end up seeing a lot of action this Winter due to 2021 graduation losses. She has an athletic frame, length, and some bounce in her step. She is very skilled in the mid-post and can play outside as well.
Team-7:
Kennedie Burks Kennedie Burks 5'3" | PG Lake Central | 2024 IN , 2024, Merrillville – Kennedie is a smaller guard, but she possesses tremendous speed and quickness. She plays with a feisty attitude and can cause problems at both ends. I especially like her as a creator and shooter offensively.
Creedance Chittenden Creedance Chittenden 5'8" | SF Cascade | 2024 IN , 2024, Cascade – When I first saw Creedance last Saturday, it was noticeable she has gotten much stronger. She was more confident and aggressive to the basket, and she absorbed contact a lot better. She is a versatile wing guard/forward.
Emma Hendricks Emma Hendricks 5'8" | SF Brownsburg | 2024 State IN , 2024, Brownsburg – Emma shot the ball extremely well from outside when I saw her. She has a strong frame, she’s a solid all-around athlete, and she plays with a nice motor. She has a good understanding of the game, but her shot is really nice.
Team-8:
Avery Patterson Avery Patterson 5'4" | CG Bloomington North | 2023 IN , 2023, Bloomington North – Avery will finally play a full Varsity season for Bloomington North this Winter, and she will be a welcomed addition. She is strong for her size, fairly quick, and she can really shoot the ball if given any space at all.
Hannah Ruddle Hannah Ruddle 5'7" | PG Homeschooled | 2023 State IN , 2023, Homeschooled – Hannah has really made an impression on small colleges the last 6-8 months. She is a quick/fast and athletic point guard with a motor. She has nice length, she can get to the basket, and she can knock down the occasional jumper.
Maliya Turner Maliya Turner 5'4" | CG Ben Davis | 2023 IN , 2023, Ben Davis – Maliya has been among several nice guards in the past at Ben Davis, so this year she should have a much bigger opportunity. She is a high-motor, tough-nosed, feisty, athletic combo guard who really gets after it defensively.
Rachel Harshman Rachel Harshman 6'0" | PF Mooresville | 2024 State IN , 2024, Mooresville – Rachel is a nice combination of size, strength, toughness, and skill. She makes herself known as a physical presence, and she attacks her opponent inside before knocking down 3-pointers when they aren’t respecting her outside.
Kimber Abshear Kimber Abshear 6'3" | PF Monroe Central | 2025 State IN , 2025, Monroe Central – Kimber is one of those wait-and-see kids I enjoy following over the course of a career because she already has nice skill and ability, and she shows the potential for more growth. She is a nice mid-post forward skillfully.
Kayla Tamm, 2025, Greensburg – Kayla is part of a strong Freshman class at Greensburg, and she is probably the best perimeter shooter in that group. She has a strong, athletic frame, she hunts jumpers all day, and she plays with a nice motor.
