Below are a couple of names from a long list of new additions that are up for a big junior season and some that have given their commitment!
20. Shannon Blacher Shannon Blacher 5'10" | CG Montini | 2023 State IL | 5’10 Combo Guard | Montini
Easily a top 3 shooter in her class, Shannon joins the new 2023 Rankings at #20. The knockdown guard from Montini is one of the fastest and quickest players you’ll get to watch. Baseline to baseline she’s just as fast with the ball, as without. Side to side, she can cut, pivot, and switch directions without a loss of momentum. Offensively, arc to paint Blacher can score with and on anyone, but from the 3, it’s usually all net. On the defensive side… high awareness, quick hands, and quicker feet. With some offers already on the table, Shannon is on her way to see her mailbox filled with even more.
55. Amina Gray Amina Gray 5'6" | PG Example Academy | 2023 State IL | 5’6 Playmaking Guard | Dekalb
After leaving a highlight reel at every summer showcase, Gray makes her debut into the rankings at #55. A playmaking guard who has handles that will have the defender asking for help on every isolation switch. Aminas scoring talent is all over. On all 3 levels, she’s a threat to the defense. Crafty at the basket, comfortable in the mid and lights out at the arc. Her game constantly improves with every game she plays. Look for Amina to bring some more attention to Dekalb.
22. Faith Okorie Faith Okorie 6'1" | PF Example Academy | 2023 State IL | 6’1 Stretch Post | Example Academy
Jumping into the rankings a #22, Okorie is a bucket in the post waiting to happen. She can play bully ball or use her footwork for finesse. When her mid-range is falling, the defense has no answer. Her high IQ and overall game improves by the day. She’s a high-energy, focused, and hardworking player… a coach’s first choice. She has the tools, maturity, and demeanor to be the leader of any team she plays on.
61. Tia Poulakidas Tia Poulakidas 6'1" | PF Neuqua Valley | 2023 State IL | 6’1 Stretch Forward | Nequa Valley
Versatile. Aware. 100% Effort. Tia makes her way onto the rankings at #61 and #14 at the PF position. The 6’1 stretch out of Nequa has the skillset of the 2-5 and is as fundamental as they come. This summer was a huge statement season for Tia, and she definitely left one. At every showcase that Tia attended, she separated herself. Offensively and Defensively… she’s a playmaker and a difference-maker, and she is only getting better.
27. Claire McDougall Claire McDougall 6'0" | SF Washington | 2023 State IL | 6’0 Stretch Forward | Washington
The recent Bradley U commit is for sure a top 30 player in this class. Arriving on the list at #27, Claire’s vision is what sets her apart from other forwards. McDougall uses her height and IQ to make plays from every possible spot on the court. A three-level scorer, and a three-level defender. Her ability to play and defend every position is always a sight to see. “A Frame Ahead” is how she sees and plays the game. Bradley has a star in the making!
66. Samantha Origel Samantha Origel 5'9" | CG Burlington Central | 2023 State IL | 5’9 Combo Guard | Burlington Central
Shooting her way on the list at #66. Sam is in that Top 10 discussion as one of the best shooters in this class. Off the catch, off the set, or a DHO. She has a form that doesn’t change… no matter the situation. Origel’s energy is to be noticed too. Constant movement on the offense and defense. On the drive, Samantha needs only a move or two to get to the basket. She’s strong & patient, which opens opportunities for the entire team.
49. Sidney Rogers Sidney Rogers 5'4" | PG Glenbrook South | 2023 State IL | 5’4 Playmaking Guard | Glenbrook South
The ability to score and facilitate at every angle is what Sidney gives you. Landing at #49, the guard out of Glenbrook South is quick, shifty, and always has the ball on a string. With every move, she scans the court to make plays. Her IQ is noticed the moment she takes a couple of dribbles. From the 3, she can knock them down at a high rate. I believe Sidney will rise the ranks multiple times this season.
