Top 50 in her class, and Top 10 (#7) at her position. Gabi is a consensus pick for a top 5 defender in the Class of 2023. She’s aggressive, energized, and loves to take on the difficult assignment. Great balance, quick feet, and her overall defensive IQ is top-notch. Offensively, her motor is just as high. Burgess can get to the bucket with one or two moves. She can knock down the three… if the drive isn’t there. Her effort on the court has no limits.
16. Natasha Barnes Natasha Barnes 5'9" | CG Kenwood | 2023 State IL | 5’9 Combo Guard | Kenwood
All-around game? Natasha is in the conversation as one of the best in her class. She’ll put the lockbox on your best scorer, and then give you 25+ from all three levels. She’s automatic with the long ball, can get to her spots, and attack the basket with finesse and strength. Kenwood has tons of talents, but Barnes has the “IT” factor about herself and her game. She always plays at her tempo no matter what the defense brings. Her junior campaign will be one to watch.
93 Nina Marie Nytko Nina Marie Nytko 5'5" | PG Willowbrook | 2023 State IL | 5’5 Guard | Willowbrook
A tough guard with tons of talent and confidence. Nina doesn’t play her size at all… she’ll attack bigs at the basket, switch on the 3-5 if needed and shoot the 3 over anyone. She can handle the ball, facilitate and she always makes the right play. On the defense, she causes chaos for the ball-hander and uses her instincts to disrupt the flow of the offense. Nytko gives hustle and 100% effort on both sides of the ball.
56 to 41. Jessie Ozzauto Jessie Ozzauto 5'10" | CG Huntley | 2023 State IL | 5’10 Combo Guard | Huntley
Easily one of the most skilled players in this 2023 class. Jessie has natural ability, natural talent, and can just flat out hoop. She’s a legit three-level scorer that can & will defend anyone. Jessie’s offensive game is effortless. The pace she plays at never changes. She can control the game from start to finish… and she hasn’t scratched the surface of her potential. Coaches need to get tickets to Huntley ASAP.
44. Kree Nunnally Kree Nunnally 5'10" | SF Example Academy | 2023 State IL | 5’10 Stretch Forward | Crystal Lake
Kree in the post is a defensive issue. Her high IQ matched with her poise and patience is a point on the board every time. Bully ball and footwork buckets is where she excels at. When the midrange is there, she can take it and knock it down. On the other side of the ball, she gives max effort when staying with her man and rebounding. Her skill level is only increasing. A standout season at Crystal Lake is on the way.
32. Lexi Kerstein Lexi Kerstein 5'7" | PG Deerfield | 2023 State IL | 5’7 Combo Guard | Deerfield
One of the most dynamic guards in this class… Lexi’s playstyle is fast, fun, but focused. The ball stays on a string, passes have flair but are pinpoint, and her eyes are always up and scanning the floor. The junior guard has an entire offensive package that can be used to score on anyone and create opportunities for everyone else. On the defensive side, she’s just as active. She’ll pick you up 94ft and harass you the entire time. Deerfield will be beyond exciting to watch this year.
79. Khaliah Reid Khaliah Reid 5'6" Waubonsie Valley | 2023 IL | 5’6 Combo Guard | Metea Valley
Her strength doesn’t match her size… but it’s there. Khaliah is one of the strongest guards you’ll come across. Her offensive style is fast, fearless, and relentless. Reid’s first step is quick, and that might be an understatement. When she gets to the rim she shows creativity with both hands, finesse, and a soft touch to finish. Her stop and pop at the mid comes with ease and her off-the-dribble attacks are a problem for any defender.
