Taylor is a player I’ve seen a couple of times now in the past few months and she really stood out this weekend on the defensive end. She’s a long forward who is capable of playing some center; but she did a good job keeping up with wings on the perimeter and staying low the ground. She also did a good job protecting the paint and blocking shots. Offensively, she looked much better than when I last saw her in terms of finishing at the rim. She’s really developing some low post moves.
2. Lea-Line Romain Lea-Line Romain 5'11" | SF JSerra Catholic HS | 2024 State CA – JSerra Catholic 2024
Romain stood out for her talented offensive game. She can handle the ball well in the halfcourt. She has a good slashing game and is able to get to the rim. Does a good job drawing fouls and getting to the free-throw line. She can drive along the baseline too. She has a nice floater and is aggressive getting into the paint. She does well passing out the paint when the defense collapses. Moves well without the ball too and dives to the rim.
3. Dylan Tse Dylan Tse 5'6" | CG South Pasadena HS | 2024 State CA – South Pasadena 2024
Tse stood out as a very good catch and shoot player who can hit threes with consistency. She has a quick release and can also shoot off the dribble. She’s a pretty good ball-handler who can attack off the dribble and get into the lane. Defensively, she uses her long arms and quick hands to get deflections. Puts pressure on the ball-handler. She makes a lot of hustle plays too; she’s willing to dive on the floor for loose balls.
4. Kyra Prendergast – Rolling Hills Prep 2022
Prendergast did well moving without the ball and getting herself space to be able to score. She makes strong cuts around the rim and she’s a good finisher in the paint. Good body control to finish through traffic. She can handle the ball at times. She also sets screens well and can roll to the rim. She’s a good defensively player in the halfcourt. She does a solid job sticking with the ball-handler and sliding her feet.
