There were athletes that definitely made a statement at the scrimmages and put their name in the mix as possible next level prospects. Let’s look at some of the players that put college coaches on alert at the Flight Hankamp Scrimmages.
Zoie Bamm Zoie Bamm 6'1" | C Columbia Central High School | 2023 MI (2023, C, Columbia Central)
Bamm is making a comeback from injury and watch out when she’s at full go. She’s an absolute force in the paint. Bamm easily establishes position under the rim, keeps the ball high, and finishes with both power and touch. She should be considered a premier post player in Michigan.
Demi Bolton (2025, G, University High)
Bolton showed a lot of upside as a freshman. She wasn’t intimidated by varsity basketball, showing a lot of poise for a young player. I really liked her willingness to on the perimeter as well as use her strength to mix it up in the paint.
Hailey Freshcorn Hailey Freshcorn 5'8" | PG Columbia Central | 2024 State MI (2024, G, Onsted)
We all know that Freshcorn has a reputation as a tough and gritty lead guard. That much is still very true, but it was her shooting that stood out on Saturday. Freshcorn lit it up from behind the arc, burying triples both off the dribble and the catch.
Zariah Reynolds (2022, F, University High)
Reynolds definitely made me turn my head at the event on Saturday. I liked her ability to move with fluidity in any direction. Reynolds showed that she could play at any pace and was in terrific physical condition, allowing her to log heavy minutes but never let if have an affect on her game.
Avery Sluss (2023, F, Adrian Lenawee Christian)
Sluss was very impressive on Saturday. She contributed in a variety of ways, from setting physical screens to burying soft corner jumpers. Sluss showed that she could defend effectively in the paint as well as on the perimeter.
Mya VanEtten (2024, F, Adrian Lenawee Christian)
The upside is big for VanEtten. It was refreshing to see a young player that was determined and knowledgeable on the defensive end. She made a difference the entire length of the floor on D. VanEtten created turnovers in the backcourt and did an excellent job denying a post feed in the paint.
