PROJECTIONS
Christian Patriots over Mira Mesa Marauders
The Patriots size and experience will prevail in this matchup. Mira Mesa is young and will have some bright spots, but Christian has too much for them at this stage of the season.
El Camino Wildcats over Del Norte Nighthawks
El Camino has a new coach and a ton of talent returning so we are picking the Wildcats in this one, but it’s not going to be easy because Del Norte is NO pushover. El Camino wins in a close game.
Bonita Vista Barons over Carlsbad Lancers
If Bonita Vista can apply pressure and turn the Lancers over they should win this one, but if they can’t and Carlsbad gets comfortable it will be a different outcome.
The Bishop’s School Knights over Westview Wolverines
The Knights guard play will be just too strong for Westview to contain, this will be a close game but look for Bishop’s to prevail.
Mission Hills Grizzlies over Mt. Miguel Matadors
What a great game that this is going to be! Mission Hills has too much fire power on the offensive end, and it will show when the Matadors try to keep pace with them in transition. Even though we picked Mission Hills it wouldn’t be a big surprise if Mt. Miguel topped them.
Cathedral Catholic Dons over La Jolla Country Day Torreys
We gotta go with the CHAMPS Cathedral in this one, even though we believe the Torreys have the much deeper bench we just think the Ice Brady show will be too much for La Jolla Country Day. We will see Saturday!
PLAYERS TO WATCH
CLASS OF 2022
Cathedral Catholic 5’7 PG Izzy Navarro
Izzy has an extremely polished, mature feel for the game at the point guard position. She is a bigger point guard which adds to her exceptional vision and passing skills.
Carlsbad 5’7 SG Alexa Mikeska
Alexa is a very good defender, and she’s no slouch on the offensive end either as she’s an effective and efficient 3 level scorer who can play both guard positions.
Mt. Miguel 5’7. SG Nataly Bravo
Off the ball she has the ability to catch and shoot the 3 as well as make plays off the dribble.
CLASS OF 2023
Bonita Vista 5’7 PG Kaylyn Buchanon-Lamb
Stronger than she looks, coupled with her length making her an extremely versatile defender. Good ball handler with passing skills and court vision to play the lead guard spot as well as playing off the ball.
La Jolla Country Day 6’4 F. Breya Cunningham Breya Cunningham 6'3" | C La Jolla Country Day | 2023 State #3 Nation CA
She gets to the spot she wants to and then makes the move she wants to at her pace. Cunningham has really good timing and rebounding instincts.
Mt. Miguel 5’6. PG Jennifer Moreno
Definition of a lead guard as she is equally comfortable setting others up as she is scoring.
CLASS OF 2024
La Jolla Country Day 5’9 SG. Taijana Avant-Robert
Her ability to shoot the ball combined with her size will translate to the next level.
Bonita Vista 5’8 G Maliyah Wilson
Good athlete with good quickness, she is effective getting into the lane.
Mission Hills 5’5. PG. Mariah Brown
Top notch defender with a pit bull mentality, runs her team very well.
