2023
Dalanna Carter Dalanna Carter 5'6" | PG Barbers Hill | 2023 State #30 Nation TX -5’6 PG (Lutheran North)
Carter and her explosive first step put her team in a position to almost pull off a huge upset and I mean HUGE yet her ability to drop the long ball was there, so were her blistering passes but what I enjoyed, even more, was watching her “TIMEX” mentality as she took “a licking” yet kept on “ticking” and one thing you can’t teach is heart, trust me on that and watching her poise under pressure reminded me on why I called her a #D1Lock in the 4th grade, use the search bar on my site
D’Asia Thomas D’Asia Thomas 6'3" | PF Houston Chrisitian | 2023 State TX -6’3 PF (Houston Christian)
Thomas and her college-ready body continue to show college-ready moves yet her strength and ability to overpower opposing players is more fluid and natural than before. I noticed last season she has worked on her jumper, as well as range, and that, along with everything else I mentioned plus she played the passing lane is why I elevated her to the 2nd best prospect on here yet the range has been extended, her form is nice, the release is quick and forget about blocking it because she elevates over defenders
Loghan Johnson Loghan Johnson 5'8" | CG Tompkins | 2023 State TX -5’8 CG (Houston Christian)
Johnson falls into the “Guess Who’Comg To Dinner” category because she’s “Movin On Up” into the Top 10 whenever I drop the update but as I drop a great movie as well as series, the meanings behind each, watching her add mass and score at will in the paint is taking her to that “deluxe apartment in the sky”. Her defense is one of the reasons they held on to win this game, her ability to rebound on both ends, many of them simply from desire, something else you can’t teach left me smiling as she too was labeled #D1Lock around the 6th grade with that Rebel squad
Jalayah Ingram Jalayah Ingram 5'8" | CG Houston Christian | 2023 State TX -5’8 PG (Houston Christian)
Ingram had me say “watch out” in one of the first times I mentioned her because I mentioned her explosiveness on both ends, I mentioned her playing the passing lane and with her athleticism… Fast forward to now, I knew she had a growth spurt coming yet her ULTRA athletic ability was on full display as she defied gravity to score on lay-ups but she also showed improved range and I don’t know if there’s a more athletic guard in her Texas 2023 class, notice I didn’t say Nationally, I speak on what I see and my crystal ball tells me she’s going to make a huge jump in the next update
2025
Aya McDowell-6’2 PF (Cy Springs)
McDowell has several tools I like, well first of all “she’s long and athletic” and let me also add, she is a LEGITIMATE D1 player, there’s a difference as the portal is overflowing with colleges taking the word of “their guys” yet her intangibles are what excites me even more as she “played the passing lane” and handled the ball in the open court, scoring after the steal, finishing after contact yet she wasn’t finished as her timing to block, alter, and (or) deflect shots was nice, so was her rebounding on both ends yet drumroll please, her “stop and pop” jumper in transition, mid to long-range drops the mic
