We released an updated rankings for the class of 2022 last month. While a number of players have signed during the early signing period, there are also a number of quality players still going through the recruiting process. Here is part two of the top unsigned players in the class of 2022.
You can take a look at the Class of 2022 Rankings HERE:
Naylee Cortes Naylee Cortes 5'11" | PF Central Pointe Academy | 2022 State FL – 5’11 Forward (Central Pointe Academy)
Overall Rank: 22
Cortes is a bit if a throwback player, playing as an undersized forward. She is physical and aggressive on both ends of the floor. She has a strong build with broad shoulders and has a blue-collar mentality on the court. She is a consistent presence on both the offensive and defensive boards and is a hustle player who is in the mix for all the 50/50 balls.
Alyanies Crespo – 5’11 Guard / Wing (DME Academy / FGB)
Overall Rank: 33
Slender built, athletic guard with a smooth offensive game. She has 3-point range, capable of knocking it down off the catch and off the dribble. She has an explosive first step and is a crafty finisher at the rim. Her court vision, passing skills, and movement without the ball on the weak side are intriguing skills that are only seen in a select number of players in Florida.
Paige McDonald Paige McDonald 5'11" | SF Cocoa HS | 2022 State FL – 5’11 Wing (Cocoa HS / Miami Suns)
Overall Rank: 36
McDonald is an intriguing prospect as she is long, athletic and versatile. She is an aggressive defender who applies a lot of ball pressure and run through passing lanes. Offensively, she consistently runs her lanes in the offensive end, giving her teammates an opportunity to advance the ball to her in the open court. She has the ability to fill up the stat sheet with points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks. When engaged and playing hard on both ends of the floor, McDonald is a major prospect that can play and contribute at the collegiate level!
Reese Tremitiere Reese Tremitiere 6'1" | PF Gulf Coast | 2022 State FL – 6’1 Forward (Gulf Coast HS / Tampa Thunder)
Overall Rank: 40
Tremitiere is one of the top athletes in the 2022 class. She plays hard, aggressive, and with a ton of energy on both ends of the floor. She has a knack for being around the ball and is consistently in the mix for loose balls. She plays with a bounce to her step and is an impactful offensive and defensive rebounder and alters a number of shots in the paint both by blocking them or just merely contesting them.
Etaria Gibbons Etaria Gibbons 6'0" | SF Northeast | 2022 State FL – 6’0 Wing / Forward (Northeast HS / Miami Suns)
Overall Rank: 44
Gibbons, like Michiyah Simmons Michiyah Simmons 5'8" | PG Blanche Ely | 2022 State FL unfortunately missed the 2021 spring/summer travel season due to injury. At 6’2, she is a high-volume rebounder who blocks shots in the paint and is a live, active body. Her length and athleticism are unique and intriguing physical attributes that combined with her skillset make Gibbons a prospect with a ton of potential that is flying under the radar due to her injury. She was All-County prior to her injury and if recovered 100%, she is without a doubt a full scholarship college prospect.
Kamryn Bullock Kamryn Bullock 5'10" | SF East River | 2022 State FL – 6’0 Wing (East River High School / Hoop Dreams Elite)
Overall Rank: 45
Bullock is a big wing with 3-point range. She uses her length very effectively on the defensive end of the floor, applying ball pressure to ball handlers and getting into passing lanes. She has a well-rounded offensive game, showcasing her ability to knock down open 3s, finding the open player using her court vision and excellent basketball IQ.
Taja Stephens Taja Stephens 5'8" | CG Western | 2022 State FL – 5’8 Guard (Western HS / Team Knight)
Overall Rank: 47
Stephens is a steady and consistent skilled guard, who has a well-rounded offensive skill set. She shoots a high percentage from the field and has a high basketball IQ. She is Western’s best ball handler and leading scorer who plays hard on both ends of the floor.
Kayla Smith Kayla Smith 5'10" | SF Winter Haven | 2022 State FL – 5’10 Wing (Winter Haven / Essence)
Overall Rank: 39
I got a chance to see Smith at the Polk County Hoopfest. She does it all for Winter Haven, handling the ball, attacking the rim, knocking down open 3s, and typically guarding the team’s best player on the defensive end. She has a long wingspan, with great length and athleticism. Smith is a lefty with a versatile skill set and is an excellent rebounder from the position.
Sierra Godbolt Sierra Godbolt 5'7" | PG Lake Highland | 2022 State FL – 5’7 Point Guard (Lake Highland Prep / Central Florida Elite)
Overall Rank: 50
I got a chance to see Godbolt at the Tampa Bay Christmas Invitational this past week. It was great to see her back on the court healthy after suffering a torn ACL and missing most of the 2020-21 season. Godbolt is a combo guard that can play both the point guard and shooting guard positions. She does a good job handling the ball vs pressure, changing speeds off the dribble and advancing the ball to the open player. Godbolt plays aggressive on the offensive end, attacking her defenders off the dribble, getting into the paint, and scoring at the rim. Her quick and explosive first step, combined with her open court moves and fearless attitude make her a high level scorer and one of the top available prospects in the class of 2022.
