Bella Hines– 5’9 Guard “Eldorado” Class of 2025
Through five games this season, Eldorado’s Freshman Bella Hines leads the Class of 2025 in scoring. She is also the captain on the Eldorado roster. This season she is averaging 24.4 points per game which is also 2nd in New Mexico according to MaxPreps. December 1st on the road vs Atrisco she scored 25 points, December 3rd on the road vs Las Cruces she scored 20 points, December 7th on the road vs Volcano Vista she scored 19 points, December 9th she had a season high 32 points vs Cibola and her last game vs Albuquerque December 11th, she scored 26 points. She has been on a roll all season and expect her to continue getting better with more experience.\
Sydney Benally– Forward “Sandia” Class of 2025
The Sandia Matadors are currently 4-1 through five games this season and Sydney Benally has been one of the biggest factors for that. She is currently the second leading scorer among freshman in New Mexico and leads her team in scoring with 15.0 points per game. She has been super consistent and has scored at least 13 points in every game this season. She shoots a high percentage from the field at 52% which is second among the freshman class. She is also second among free throws made this season. She is a really good scorer and will play a huge role for Sandia the rest of this season.
Natalia Stout– Guard “Pecos” Class of 2025
Natalia Stout from Pecos High School has been one of the best all around freshman so far this season. She has several good parts to her game and one of those is her scoring. She is currently averaging 12.3 points per game which ranks 3rd among the freshman Class and is her schools leading scorer so far. She has had some big games already, her season high of 29 points on 13/20 shooting came on December 7th at home vs East Mountain in a 48-29 win. Another big game she had was the season opener November 30th vs Mora where she had 18 points on 8/15 shooting from the field. Expect her to have more games like those this season and the next few years going forward.
Hope Giddings– Guard “Sandia” Class of 2025
Hope Giddings is another player that is part of Sandia’s young core. She is one of three freshman on a Sandia Matadors team that is 4-1 this season. Their only loss has come against Volcano Vista, the defending 2021 state champions. Hope Giddings is averaging 11.5 points per game which is fourth among the freshman class and is Sandia’s second leading scorer this season. Her best game this season was November 30th vs Cibola where she scored 19 points shooting 8/15 from the field which helped Sandia win 68-42. Hope Giddings and this young Sandia team will be fun to watch the next few years.
Bleona Agushi– Point Guard “Del Norte” Class of 2025
Through five games this season, Del Norte’s Point Guard Bleona Agushi has shown she is one of the top scorers in the Class of 2025. In 3 of her 5 games this season, she has scored in double digits. She is currently averaging 8.8 points per game which ranks 5th among freshman and she has been a huge factor in helping Del Norte win three games this season. Her best scoring games have been 14 points, 12 points and 11 points so far. Expect her to remain one of Del Norte’s more consistent players going forward this season.
