Non-D-I schools should make a move on Bonds. She’s an attractive prospect for D-II, D-III and NAIA programs. Annika has quality size and is capable of playing either guard position. She plays at her own pace and doesn’t get sped up. Bonds can play slow but then switch gears to get to the hoop. Her pull-up jumper is her most impressive weapon. Annika does a great job of easing into her shot and uses a high release to cash in. She finished with 15 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal in a 52-49 win over Monroe Area.
2024 5-6 G Aiyanna Peavy Aiyanna Peavy 5'6" | PG North Oconee | 2024 State GA – North Oconee
YaYa is shot out of a cannon. She likes to play at a high pace. Peavy is an energetic guard with a high motor. She gets on the glass and ignites fast breaks. The lefty has great confidence in her shot. Even though her release is a bit unorthodox, her jumper must be respected as she can get hot in a hurry. She scored 13 points in the second quarter, burying three three-pointers. Peavy recorded 19 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal.
2024 5-7 W Ashlyn Lange – North Oconee
The sophomore is a solid glue-guy that brings toughness and hustle. Ashlyn is a solid rebounder for her size and can help defend multiple positions when switched. She collected 7 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and had the game-clinching block at the buzzer.
2023 5-11 F Chemiah Strickland – Monroe Area
Strickland feasted off layups behind the 1-2-2 press of North Oconee. The Hurricanes did a good job of pitching the ball ahead and looking opposite where Strickland was anchored on the block and converted easy buckets. She scored 10 points off layups in the first quarter and finished with 12 points, 7 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 block. Chemiah has nice size and another year of development ahead.
2023 5-1 G Jaliyah Millsap – Monroe Area
Jaliyah Millsap nearly carried Monroe Area to a wild upset, hitting a pair of threes in the fourth quarter as she finished with 12 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. She was a key cog in helping beat the North Oconee press with her ball handling and court vision.
2023 5-3 G Jakiyah Butts – Monroe Area
Butts was an energizer bunny for the Hurricanes. She was aggressive on both sides of the floor and provided infectious energy for the upset-minded underdogs. Butts hit a pull-up jumper and a floater part of her 10 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 steals. She was quick to every loose ball and wasn’t afraid to get on the floor.
