Arizona has many outstanding assist leaders among senior guards. Here’s a look at some of them.
Kylie Callahan is a five-foot-eight senior captain point guard at Salpointe Catholic. She also plays for her club team, TNT. The Lancers are 7-0 so far this season and Kylie is averaging 17.9 points per game along with 3.3 assists and 4.6 steals. She is also shooting 60% from the floor. Her scoring average has gone up in each of her four seasons on the varsity. As a freshman, she averaged 5.8, then 8.9 as a sophomore, and then 12.2 as a junior. With 736 points in 77 career games, she could hit 1,000 career points. Last season, as well, she led the Lancers in both steals and assists and is intent on making sure all of her teammates are involved in their offense. SC has a very deep team and they should make a run at a state title. By the way, Kylie is also a member of the Lancer track and field team.

Her scoring average has gone up each year – from 7.0 as a freshman to 15.8 as a sophomore to 23.0 as a junior. She was the 2019 regional Defensive Player of the Year and is considered an outstanding playmaker. One scout commented on her game. “Sunday is a very good player that has the ability to shoot the three. She is still growing and is a very versatile player. She makes her teammates better. She can run the floor and is considered a good defender, rebounder, and shot-blocker.”

Kelsey delivered the winning three-point shot with 30 seconds left in the game. She averaged 14.3 points per game as a sophomore and 12.3 last season. Not only does she lead the team in assists and steals, but is also an outstanding defender.
