I wanted to take a moment to give recognition to some of the great individual performances I saw throughout the week. A lot of these players are not being mentioned in the conversation as the state’s best. These scouting reports were compiled thanks to the hard work of so many people who have been putting out content and energy to help these girls get better. Your dedication to providing access to the great sport of basketball does not go unnoticed. We appreciate all of you.
So, as I watched high school hoops, here are some players that stood out as we entered into the Christmas Break!
Kimberly Roscoe – 6’1 – Cornerstone Eagles – Class of 2024
Kimberly Roscoe raised some eyebrows on this week when they nearly upset John Carrol, one of the favorites in 5A. This breakout performance from the Eagles was led by Kimberly, a young forward who consistently brought energy on both ends of the court. Her length and reach accounted for 6 blocks. Kimberly is only a sophomore and shows signs that she can be one of the top 10 players in the State of Alabama. Cornerstone Eagles is officially a sleeper team in 2021, whose sophomore leader can help them take on some of the best teams in the state.
Kye Fincher – 5’10 – Cornerstone Eagles – Class of 2026
Fincher is a legit 5’10 rising 8th grader who is incredible in transition! Fincher has been playing big minutes in big games. Her overall game has made tremendous strides as her offensive skill continues to improve as she consistently is a force inside and outside as a rebounder and a shooter that finishes well around the basket. Fincher has the most upside of anyone on the 2026 list and if she continues to improve and make strides to her game could become an elite level prospect potentially top 25 nationally.
Annie Morgan – 5’5 – John Carroll Catholic School- Class of 2022
Morgan controls the pace for her team. She never lets the defense speed her up. Morgan distributed an offense that could not be slowed down versus Cornerstone. Of course, she contributed some offense of her own, because that’s the kind of guard she is. Her speed creates a mismatch against a lot of opposing guards. Morgan is the perfect compliment to John Carroll’s aggressive style of play. Annie remains calm under pressure and makes good decisions with the basketball in her hands.
Isabella Corsini – 5’5 – John Carroll Catholic School- Class of 2023
Isabella does a good job of working in the flow of the offense and always makes good decisions with the ball. Isabella has been on fire her last few games. She has been leading her team in scoring lately. Isabella is a great team player and doesn’t force shots. She has great footwork and does a great job of always being ready to shoot. Against Cornerstone this week she lead all scorers in the game and contributing to a win for her team.
