As the season continues to progress and we start to approach postseason play, teams will look to their more experienced players for guidance and leadership. Here are a few senior standouts who have made big impacts this season and look to continue their success into the second half of the season.
Jordyn Carr Jordyn Carr 5'6" | PG Tri County Northeast | 2022 State NE (2022) | 5-6 PG | Tri-County Northeast / United Sports Academy
Carr is an agile point guard with the ability to shoot it anytime from anywhere. The 2022 Morningside commit has proven to be one of the best shooting guards in the class. Carr’s quick release and extended range make her a real threat from behind the arc. She also displays a finish package around the hoop that allows her to score over taller defenders and finish in transition. Defensively, Carr shows the wherewithal to step into passing lanes and pick ball handlers and turn them into fast breaks. Carr’s athleticism and shooting ability have been key to her success.
Karley Heimes Karley Heimes 6'0" | SF Wynot | 2022 State NE (2022) | 6-0 SF | Wynot HS
Heimes has been the key player for legendary Wynot head coach Steve Wieseler’s squad. The 2022 forward shows plenty of athleticism and versatility on both sides of the court. Defensively, there isn’t a matchup she can’t handle with the ability to switch and guard all five positions. Her length and athleticism show on the boards, too. Heimes has the ability to bring the ball up the court for the Blue Devils, knock down shots from the outside, and score inside in the post. Heimes is a 2022 volleyball commit for Northeast Community College in Norfolk, NE.
Ella Wragge Ella Wragge 5'10" | SF Crofton | 2022 State NE (2022) | 5’10 SF | Crofton HS / United Sports Academy
Another 2022 Morningside commit from Northeast Nebraska, who has had an impressive senior campaign, is Ella Wragge Ella Wragge 5'10" | SF Crofton | 2022 State NE . Wragge ranks as the 44th ranked prospect in the PGH Nebraska 2022 Player Rankings. A real threat from the outside, Wragge can stretch out defenses as a knockdown shooter. She is also not afraid to take things inside, displaying scoring capabilities from mid-range and on the block. Wragge has the length to match up with anyone on the floor, and perimeter capabilities to score at all three levels.
Alexis Folkers Alexis Folkers 5'7" | SG Crofton | 2022 State NE (2022) | 5-7 PG | Crofton HS / United Sports Academy
Just a few spots down on the 2022 PGH rankings is teammate and under-the-radar, point guard Alexis Folkers Alexis Folkers 5'7" | SG Crofton | 2022 State NE . The savvy, experienced guard gives off a calm presence in the big moments for a tested Crofton team. Folkers does a lot of good things on both ends of the court for Crofton. Her athleticism and basketball smarts give ball handlers fits in the Crofton press. On offense, she has proven to be a more than capable shooter and displays the ability to get to the basket and finish. Folkers’ combination of basketball awareness, athleticism, and skill has paid dividends to Crofton throughout her career.
Kinsey Hall Kinsey Hall 6'0" | SF Laurel-Concord-Coleridge | 2022 State NE (2022) | 6-0 SF | Laurel-Concord-Coleridge HS
You guessed it. Another northeast Nebraska senior filling the stat sheet, another Morningside College 2022 commit. The recent Mustangs signee has done it all for LCC this year, averaging 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 blocks per game. Hall is another versatile forward with length and scoring ability. She is not afraid to step out and knock down the three, or catch back to the basket and work on the block. Her defense and rebounding ability can change a game, as her length and instincts help her block and alter opponent’s shots.
