Later this weekend, I will list another group of talented juniors and seniors who caught my eye.
Meghan Mayotte Meghan Mayotte 5'10" | SF Worthington Chrisian | 2023 State OH , 5-9 2023, Worthington Christian- This junior caught me eye with her ability to put the ball on the floor and penetrate to the rim, finishing with either hand. She is a solid athlete and full of energy, plays with a high level of intensity. She also is multidimensional with her ability to score from behind the arc, and is not afraid to let it fly. Good midrange game, solid fundamentals.
Megan Weakley Megan Weakley 5'10" | SF Worthington Christian | 2023 State OH , 5-10 2023, Worthington Christian- One of the best pure shooters I had the privilege of seeing at the CITC, she can fill it up from everywhere. She is very poised and handles the pressures of the game well. She is a very smart player, makes things happen on defense with great anticipation. She is a good o n-ball defender and moves her feel well on the defensive side. Natural leader.
Jenna Shackleford Jenna Shackleford 6'0" | SF Newark | 2023 State OH , 6-0 2023, Newark- I saw her back in the early season and was impressed with her ball skills and development in her game. She is able to defend multiple positions and gets into position to make plays. Offensively she can push the ball in transition and get to the rim. Has good footwork in the paint, squares to the basket well and scores. Good handles and range.
Maddie Vejsicky Maddie Vejsicky 6'0" | SF Newark | 2022 State OH , 6-0 2022, Newark- I also have seen her early in the season, and her next-level skillset is very solid. Division One player with a shot that is very steady from well beyond the arc. Shoots off the dribble well. Uses her length and athleticism to make it tough on her opponent.
Olivia Cooper Olivia Cooper 6'1" | C Pickerington Central | 2023 State OH , 6-1 2023, Pickerington Central- One of the best rebounders I saw over the weekend, she is a force in the paint. Does a nice Jon with positioning and footwork to rebound and open the break. She also has good range with good handles. A pick-and-pop player. Her game should continue to grow. (feature photo above)
