No. 31 Mary Berg Mary Berg 5'7" | PG Menomonie | 2024 State WI -5’7 G-Menomonie
The Menomonie guard has shot the ball at a high level this season. Berg is nearly in the 50/40/90 club with her 49% shooting, 44% 3-point shooting, and her 86% shooting from the free-throw line. Berg has been a consistent piece to a Mustangs team, currently undefeated in the Big Rivers Conference. On film, Berg’s jumper looks like one that should be shooting near the 50/40/90 club. The other aspect of the sophomore’s jumper is how quickly she gets the ball up towards the rim. Not only is Berg’s jumper consistent, but she also doesn’t need much space to get it off as well.
No. 44 Adrianna Gonzalez Adrianna Gonzalez 5'7" | PG Indian Trail | 2024 State WI -5’7 G-Indian Trail
The Indian Trail guard has shown an ability to score with volume this season, with over 20 points per game. Gonzalez’s shooting has been solid this season, but it’s her area with a substantial amount of room to improve. The sophomore takes a lot of shots, but if she found a little more consistency in her offensive game, it’d be beneficial. Gonzalez has the potential to be a high-level guard if she can improve her shooting numbers in the next few years. However, the sophomore is one of the best volume scorers in the state.
No. 60 Isabella Millan Isabella Millan 5'8" | CG Florence | 2024 WI -5’8 G-Florence
The Florence guard is one of the most used players on any team in Wisconsin. The Bobcat tends to find the ball more often than she doesn’t. However, Millan can jump up these rankings over time if she figures out how to score more efficiently. Even though the sophomore scores over 23 points per game, her efficiency numbers leave me wanting more from her. Millan has shown an ability to affect the game in every aspect. The last mountain she has to climb is her overall shooting.
No. 70 Hannah Somorin Hannah Somorin 5'8" | PG Cedarburg | 2024 WI -5’7 G-Cedarburg
The transfer from Colorado plays as a pass-first point guard. Somorin has been a spot starter and has done a great job of taking care of the ball when she’s on the floor. The Cedarburg guard has been a solid piece for a Bulldogs team looking to compete at a high level. Somorin, like other guards on this list, needs to figure out their offensive efficiency numbers. Somorin has good instincts as a lead ball-handler and enjoys getting her teammates involved, there needs to be a bit more of her scoring efficiently, and she could rise in these rankings.
No. 82 Lauren Mader Lauren Mader 6'0" | C Ashwaubenon | 2024 WI -6’0 C-Ashwaubenon
Mader was a participant at the Top 250 Expo. In that event, Mader showed good touch around the basket. I liked her ability to make herself available to her guards. Mader has the potential to become a solid piece for Ashwaubenon. Mader hasn’t played much this season, but her combination of size and skill makes me think that won’t last for long.
No. 84 Ava Highman Ava Highman 5'5" | PG Regis | 2024 WI -5’5 G-Regis
Highman has shown flashes of being able to score at a high level. There are a few reasons why this might not translate over an extended period. One could be that she takes more of a backseat to Rohrschieb at Regis, or her jumper is a little too inconsistent at the moment. The Regis sophomore will have to show a lot next season to help her team ascend to a competitive level, but the opportunity for her is there. I like Highman’s potential to be a solid guard. She still has some more to prove.
No. 86 Annamaria Luna Annamaria Luna 5'6" | PG Wauwatosa West | 2024 WI -5’5 G-Wauwatosa West
I believe in the Wauwatosa West’s ability to figure out efficiency woes offensively. I like the look of her jumper and think she should be a much better shooter than she has been. Luna is an active player who can defend with toughness and is solid as a help-side defender. However, her ability as a shooter will be necessary to raise her stock as a prospect to play basketball at the next level.
No. 92 Madison Ehlenbach Madison Ehlenbach 5'9" | CG Columbus | 2024 State WI -5’9 G-Columbus
Aesthetically, Ehlenbach looks like she’s close to figuring out the varsity level. Her first season as a varsity player has had ups and downs, but I think she has potential. The Columbus sophomore is a slightly bigger guard, and she uses that to her advantage. The Cardinal has a high release on her jumper, and it looks good. Ehlenbach shoots with confidence. The opportunity is there for Ehlenbach to take it and run with it. The Cardinal could surprise people.
