Marquae Richardson-Muse – 5-9 SG/SF, Haddon Heights
Richardson-Muse has a versatile game as she can dominate the boards and the interior as a forward would, but can run the point and connect from the perimeter like a guard. She looks more comfortable as a forward, but more of the modern stretch four role that allows for a more active game. Richardson-Muse is aggressive and plays up on defense, willing to guard at the perimeter and penetrates the lane well while on offense. That one-two punch of both skillsets presents much trouble for opponents this season.
Sara McShea – 5-11 SF/SG, Paul VI
McShea can play both as a guard and a forward and excels as both on the floor. Her agility is more reminiscent of a guard as she moves around, getting open for scoring opportunities. She’s utilizes her size more like a forward, playing a more physical style of defense and finishing tough at the basket. McShea is less of a traditional big and more of a stretch four and that’s developed her into a much more effective player overall.
Maya Edwards – 5-7 PG/SG, Eastern
Edwards is a multi-faceted guard who controls the ball well and is as much of a facilitator as she is a scorer. She’s often the person leading the fast break after a steal or turnover in general and her breakout speed allows her an easy lane to the basket. Edwards is an aggressive guard on offense and isn’t afraid to take contact going in for a shot. That aggression translates on defense where she’s evolved into an excellent perimeter defender with great court vision.
Ryane Wood – PG, Pennsville
Wood’s x-factor is her scoring ability as one of the best pure scorers in the state. She’s really solidified that role on Pennsville this season, a sizeable portion of that coming from the perimeter. Wood scores in bunches from three, but doesn’t exclusively rely on the long ball as her interior and midrange game have been taken up a notch. The more she finds her shooting stroke and her range, the more worries opponents should be.
Kimmy Casiello – 5-4 PG/SG, Wildwood Catholic
It’s been a struggle for Casiello to find her footing during the high school season, but things have turned a corner this winter. Casiello has found her shooting stroke again from beyond the arc, where she’s developed a quick release. She’s also finding herself open a lot more as her off-ball movement has improved tremendously. Along with that, her court vision has come a long way as has her passing and perimeter defense. Casiello is now a multi-faceted guard who can take over a game in the matter of seconds.
