It felt good to get back into the gym with so many games being canceled or postponed due to the surge in Covid numbers in the area. Both of these teams like to get and out run and have plenty of talented athletes on their rosters, so this one was mostly easy on the eyes. These are two well coached programs that are on the rise in the area and I always enjoy watching them play. Maret pulled away in the second half for a 65-46 win. Here are some of the players that I was impressed with…
Maryan Eniafe, Maret, 2024, Center
Very impressive outing for this 6’1″ post. She had a major impact on both ends of the court. She runs the floor, catches just about every pass that comes her way and can finish with both hands in traffic. She has a nice touch on her shot and her footwork is awesome. She looks like she perfected the Mikan drills in practice years ago and it’s paying off. She’s a good passer, especially from the high post where she found cutters for easy hoops.
London Liley, Maret, 2025, Wing
Exceptional athlete who did some good on ball defensive work in this game. She has good length and instincts and made life difficult for players trying to attack off the dribble. She had some nice drives to the basket and her shot looked good out to the 3 point line.
Page Greenburg Page Greenburg 5'8" | CG Maret | 2022 State MD , Maret, 2022, Combo Guard
Page played a strong all around game. She showed off a good handle under pressure and was able to go back and forth between facilitating and running the offense and hunting her own shots when necessary. She’s a three level scorer and a shot maker so she filled the stat sheet while playing strong defense as well.
Zaiha Minnis Zaiha Minnis 5'10" | SF Maret | 2022 State MD , Maret, 2023, Shooting Guard
Zaiha is one of the best shooters in the area. That was on display in this game as she knocked down a couple of threes and some long two’s. Leave her open at your own risk.
Jayla Towles, Pallotti, 2023, Wing
Jayla was good in this game, running the floor to get several easy buckets in transition. She added a couple of three pointers to tally 14 points on the night.
Gabrielle Clary, Pallotti, 2024, Wing
Gabby was her usual super active self, doing everything her team needed to compete. She was all over the court getting loose balls and rebounds, blocking shots and scoring in the paint. She fought to the final buzzer. She’s always a pleasure to watch.
