In this poll and the poll on the PGH NJ Twitter (@PGHNewJersey), you’ll be able to vote on the top teams from South Jersey from the past week. Here are the four finalists for Week 5.
Haddon Township – 3-0 in Week 5, 7-1 overall
The Hawks had an impressive week in the Colonial Conference, going a perfect 3-0 with an average margin of winning of 12, including a 15-point home victory against Collingswood on Jan. 10. Kayleigh Armstrong Kayleigh Armstrong 5'7" | PG Haddon Township | 2022 State NJ led Haddon Township during the week with 12.0 PPG and had 19 points in a win against Gateway, her second-highest point total of the season. Sara Wiedeman had a career-high 13 points against the Gators as well.
Camden Catholic – 3-0 in Week 5, 7-2 overall
The Irish’s high-powered offense was on full display during the week, averaging 64.7 PPG while giving up just 30.7 PPG to opponents. That includes a season-low 13 points that Camden Catholic gave up to Cherry Hill West in a 59-13 win. Junior Kassidy Thompson Kassidy Thompson 5'9" | SG Camden Catholic | 2023 State NJ had her best week of the season, averaging 18.7 PPG with two 20-point games. Senior forward Sarah Johnson has been an excellent rebounder, averaging 9.7 RPG during the week. Aside from losses to Paul VI and Rutgers Prep, the Irish have been rolling this season.
Wildwood – 3-0 in Week 5, 7-0 overall
Wildwood has continued its perfect season with three more wins this week and great performances from Imene Fathi Imene Fathi 5'4" | PG Wildwood | 2022 State NJ and Macie McCracken. Fathi had two 20-point games, averaging 18.7 PPG and McCracken had a career-high 33 points in a 74-62 win over Our Lady of Mercy. Wildwood averaged 56.0 PPG as an offense during the week, winning by an average of 18.3 PPG. They’ve also begun their Tri-County Conference schedule with a 2-0 record.
Clearview – 2-0 in Week 5, 8-2 overall
After a 19-point loss to Shawnee, Clearview got back to its winning ways, taking two straight during the week, one of which being a 45-point victory over Deptford. Emma Steidle averaged 23.0 PPG over two games for the Pioneers and Ana Pellecchia Ana Pellecchia 5'9" | SG Clearview | 2024 State NJ averaged 17.0 PPG during the week. The two knocked down 7.5 three-pointers a game last week and were just absolutely dominant. The Pioneers fought off a second-half surge in the Kingsway win, a positive sign for their defense moving forward.
