The victory ran the Titans’ record to a still undefeated 15-0 while Spring Valley now carries a mark of 8-7. Coach Cornelius Snead’s Titans will face North Carolina-based Quality Education Academy on Friday while the Vikings remain on the road that same day to take on Ridge View.
Prep Girls Hoops made it out to Darlington for Wednesday night’s contest. Here is who stood out for their teams.
Kiyomi McMiller Kiyomi McMiller 5'8" | PG Life Center Academy | 2024 State NJ – 2024 – Trinity Collegiate School – Sometimes, certain players throw teams for such a loop that no matter how a defense tries to contain said player, a team simply has no answer for her. The Vikings had no answers for McMiller on Wednesday night – as has been the case with many a Trinity Collegiate opponent. She showcased how court aware she is, hauled in rebounds (including off of Spring Valley free throw misses) and managed to attract a lot of attention with how proficient of a scorer she is. McMiller will play stout defense, including off of an opponent’s inbound sets and will help out in setting up double teams to trap opposing ball carriers. McMiller led the charge for the Titans with 33 points.
Jaidah Liebert Jaidah Liebert 5'9" | SF Spring Valley | 2023 State SC – 2023 – Spring Valley HS – After a couple of seasons of down basketball at Spring Valley, Liebert has been integral in getting the Vikings back to its winning ways. She keeps her hands out as a defender and will intercept passes to disrupt an opposing team’s passing lanes – as well as create additional possessions for Spring Valley. Liebert will take whatever an opposing defense throws at her and still find lanes to drive to the rim in addition to being an effective 3-point shooter. She led all Vikings point-getters with a 14-point effort – 10 of which occurred in the second quarter.
Jaida Cameron Jaida Cameron 5'7" | PG Legacy Early College | 2024 State SC – 2024 – Trinity Collegiate School – As much attention as McMiller gets for her eye-popping point totals, she is not the only standout sophomore the sports the blue colors of Trinity Collegiate. Cameron can get from one end of the court to the other consistently and find driving lanes through defenses to convert on high-percentage shots. She is a leader on the defensive side both vocally and by example. Cameron is a consistent threat to steal the ball including on opponents’ half court sets. She will help out on double teams, can be creative with how she takes care of the ball and finds herself consistently at the right place and right time on the court. Cameron finished her evening with 17 points.
Zie’l Ratchford Zie’l Ratchford 5'7" | CG Spring Valley | 2025 State SC – 2025 – Spring Valley HS – Ratchford is another reason as to why 2021-22 has the makings of a banner season for the Vikings. She may be a freshman, but she plays the game with the toughness and confidence of a veteran. Ratchford has had games this season where she has come off the bench, but was in the starting five on Wednesday night for the Vikings. She bolsters Spring Valley’s rebounding efforts and has no problems going at a slew of defenders in order to finish at the rim. Ratchford can intercept passes, provides plenty of hustle and will absorb contact which will place her at the free throw line. She scored eight points.
Kenzie Feagin Kenzie Feagin 5'5" | SG Trinity Collegiate | 2023 State SC – 2023 – Trinity Collegiate School – Feagin had herself a banner 2021, not only on the court, but in terms of her recruiting with her announcements of receiving offers from Agnes Scott and Francis Marion. She is a consistent distributor of the ball, keeps her hands out as a defender and is confident in her 3-point shooting. While opposing teams may try to limit her ability to get on the scoreboard via what she does beyond the arc, Feagin displays impressive handles and will find her way to the rim. The 5-foot-4 guard was one of three Titans with double-digit point outputs as she tallied 13.
Madison Entzminger Madison Entzminger 5'1" | PG Spring Valley | 2023 State SC – 2023 – Spring Valley HS – Entzminger is one of four juniors on the 2021-22 rendition of Spring Valley that is rich in veteran talent. Listed as a 5-foot guard, she can make tough shots against a number of defenders. Entzminger is a proficient distributor of the ball and, defensively, remains a constant threat to collect steals and take the ball the other way to create extra Spring Valley possessions. She will also absorb contact and find her way to the free throw line. Entzminger concluded her evening putting six points on the scoreboard – four of which came in the third quarter of play.
