Briley Barnes Briley Barnes 6'1" | SF Amarillo | 2022 State TX -6’1 F (Amarillo)
Barnes does quite a few things to go with her being “long and athletic” which is the base. She can handle the ball and create her shot, under pressure and she can take the defender off the dribble, all of which is nice yet she also can shoot it, and one thing I know is that college coaches love shooters, she’s signed with Tulsa, but her midrange will translate over to the next level quickly because of her shot selection, knowing when to take it and where to take it from
McKenzie Smith McKenzie Smith 5'11" | SF Amarillo | 2023 State TX -6’0 (Amarillo)
Smith showed me so much that I just quit writing because it’s embedded in my memory. Her ability to create and drop the pull-up with a hand in her face was definitely something that grabbed me and speaking of grabbing, she goes after the ball off the rim, on both ends. She scored on putbacks, she scored off the dribble and she did both after contact yet her defense was smothering as she created turnovers and to add even more, she also gave some acrobatic finishes showing her body control,
Jordan Jones-5’8 (Arlington Martin)
Jones plays taller than her listed size, which deserves a #THROWBACK hashtag and one thing I enjoy is watching players use the “basics” which have somehow taken a backseat to whatever gimmicks are being taught yet her understanding positioning coupled with #DESIRE which means she goes after the ball, another lost art, enabled her to score on putbacks yet she also did that around the basket and watching her play the passing lane was equally satisfying
Paige Taylor Paige Taylor 5'11" | PF James W. Martin (Arlington) | 2022 TX -5’11 (Arlington Martin)
Taylor does a good job on both ends yet her defense was pretty solid because of her wingspan as well as her timing, she blocked shots as well as had players alter them, she even deflected a couple to go along with her “on the ball” defense as well as her rebounding on both ends of the court
Samantha Ising Samantha Ising 6'3" | C Hebron | 2022 State TX -6’4 (Lewisville Hebron)
Ising signed with Concordia and she already possesses a college-ready frame. She does a good job rebounding on both ends, she can finish on the inside and her upside is good for what she’ll do at the next level
Trinity King-5’10 (Mansfield Timberview)
King uses her body well around the basket and can score with players literally hanging on her, that speaks volumes about her strength, well so does her “rebounding with authority” yet she runs the floor, on both ends and does a good job defending not only inside the paint but she can step outside of it and guard her man as well
