Taytum Bell Taytum Bell 5'10" | SG Amarillo | 2024 State TX -5’11 W (Amarillo) 2024
Bell as in “ring my” with her tough defense that was shown either inside the paint yet she also was athletic enough to step outside the paint and apply “on the ball” pressure. She battles for rebounds, something I always love to see so let me drop a hashtag #THROWBACK because that was definitely enlightening yet so was her attacking the rim, and her first step definitely gave the defender problems as she finished strongly after contact
Torie Sevier Torie Sevier 6'4" | PF Braswell | 2023 State TX -6’4 P (Denton Braswell)
Sevier is long, tall, and athletic, well very tall and standing 76 inches, and watching her “play the passing lane” definitely had me smiling but she also has good timing while defending her man as she blocked, altered, or deflected shots and her wingspan definitely made anyone challenging the basket think about it. She also has a nice touch around the rim and did a good job finishing facing the basket, this includes after contact
Janavia Gage Janavia Gage 6'3" | C Huntsville | 2023 State TX -6’3 P (Huntsville)
Gage burst on the scene over the club season with the Lady Thunder and the progression I saw from the beginning of the season towards the end was astounding yet you can’t teach desire and that desire deserves a #THROWBACK because watching her go after the ball off the rim should give you an idea on what I mean. She’s strong and powerful, and already has a college-ready body and it was nice to see her finishing with players literally hanging on her. with either hand
Christina Davis Christina Davis 6'1" | PF Mansfield | 2023 TX -6’0 F/P (Mansfield)
Davis uses her body well, she understands positioning and also does a good job of watching the ball’s trajectory as it comes off the rim. Let me also give her a #THROWB ACK for simply out-hustling others for rebounds, she also did it on the offensive end and scored on putbacks, even after contact
Zoi McClennan -6’1 P (Mansfield Timberview)
McClennan also uses her body well around the basket and understands how to box out or block-out, whatever you want to call it, she does it and her ability to also run the floor, on both ends, after the rebounds definitely were impressive because she can ignite the break on one end or score and get back on defense after the putback on the flip yet she’s also strong
Chey’anne Frazier-5’11 F (Pflugerville)
Frazier had me hearing “down goes Frazier” in a different way because she was down to just send messages on the inside of the paint and observing her on day 2 gave me a glimpse of how valuable she is to a team filled with talented guards. She can score after contact around the rim, she scores off the dribble and finishes after contact and she also can score from midrange but her battling for rebounds on both ends definitely was pleasurable for me
