Althena Tomlinson-5’4 PG (Clovis West) CA
Tomlinson was definitely a joy to catch and she did so much in a short span of time that I just knew what I was looking at before GOOGLING her later. I speak about “you never know who’s watching” and you must “seize the opportunity” yet after 2 minutes, that’s all I needed because she’s explosive with the ball yet under control and blowing by defenders in the set or open court had me smiling, so did her pull-up as well as seeing the floor not to leave out baseline to baseline heart on defense
Bryanna Preston Bryanna Preston 5'10" | PG Wesleyan | 2024 State GA -5’6 PG (Lovejoy) GA
Preston may not be related to Billy yet she had defenders going round in circles trying to guard her and much of that was due to her athleticism and very nice first step plus she has UPS and seeing her elevate over whoever was guarding her to get her shot off was nice but she also handled the ball and with a variety of moves she understands how to get to the basket and finish. She sees the floor well, passes are crisp and on the money but her long arms also help her on the defensive end
Kennedi Ard-5’10 G (Walker) LA
Ard goes HARD and let me start with she’s “long and athletic” and for those who don’t remember, that’s the base but she elevates off the ground for her jumper as well as after she attacks the basket to finish, she does that well after contact but she also rebounds, on both ends of the court and did a good job defending “on the ball”
Kendall Sneed Kendall Sneed 5'7" | CG Hardin Jefferson | 2024 State TX –5’9 CG (Hardin Jefferson)
Sneed just keeps elevating her status and by taking her game to yet another level, she’s another huge piece to her team’s puzzle in their attempt to make a state championship run yet her dancing with the ball in the open court is definitely a problem for defenders because the crossover as well as stutter-step or whatever synonym being used, she gets to the basket almost effortlessly but here’s another problem, her mid to long-range is definitely a threat, so is her being vocal and seeing the floor
Vernell Atamah Vernell Atamah 5'11" | PF Mesquite Horn | 2024 State TX -6’0 G/F (Mesquite Horn)
Atamah uses her power around the basket to send messages as she rebounds as well as finishes with players literally hanging on her however she also uses finesse with her soft touch facing the basket. She’s taking the defender from the wing off the dribble, with either hand, this will create even more issues
Keyera Roseby Keyera Roseby 5'10" | SF Liberty | 2024 State TX -5’10 G/F (Frisco Liberty)
Roseby continues to show her “all-around ability” and find ways to contribute because she’s not the first option yet she can score, either by grabbing offensive boards or coming up with steals playing the passing lane yet she also does a good job creating her shot in the set, dropping the jumper or scoring off the dribble
Deziray Cameron-5’9 F (Palo Duro)
Cameron doesn’t mind battling for everything off the rim, she did a good job finishing as well as defending inside the paint
Juantai Williams-6’1 F (Palo Duro)
Williams told me she also plays other sports, either volleyball or runs track yet I forgot because that’s not what I do yet I love what she did at the stage of her game and she is “ultra-athletic” with length but her timing and upside makes me wish I was still out there “truly developing” because she is definitely one of those players that could sneak up and pass a whole lot of others
