Continue ReadingWith us coming into the new year Alabama has some standouts in week 1. The girls that I saw this week all have the potential to play college basketball. These players did the little things. Some contributed with their rebounding and defense while others may have took on the load of scoring. If you wanted to see some good girls basketball these girls provided the highlights.
2023 6-1 F Ghan’aye Whitfield-Moss– Hueytown
Ghan’aye Whitfield-Moss went crazy in the second half as she willed the Team to a convincing victory. Moss locked in on defense. She was everywhere on the floor, picking up multiple players and using her versatility to impact the game on both ends of the floor. Her nose for the ball on defense led to energy plays on offense, leading the team in scoring with 23 points. Moss will need to work on her handle a little more for the next level, but her production couldn’t be ignored.
2023 6-2 F Trinity Pulliam– Hueytown
A vocal energetic forward with terrific length, anytime Trinity Pulliam steps on the floor, you know it. She rebounds well and directs traffic on defense and supports her teammates. Pulliam has a lot of intangibles and a ton of upsid
e on Offense. She’s quick enough to guard multiple positions and does a nice job shooting the ball. Pulliam has a quick first step and was able to score the ball of a ton of offensive rebounds. The joy Pulliam plays with is always apparent. She finished the game with 19pts and more than a handful of rebounds.
2022 5-6 PG Alecia Reasor – Thompson High School
The sparkplug guard was up to her old tricks, wreaking havoc on defense with her on-ball quickness and weaving around defenders as she blew by in transition. You can always count on Alecia Reasor Alecia Reasor 5'5" | PG Thompson | 2022 State AL to provide a tremendous effort on both ends of the floor. She leads her team in scoring, she makes it a point to lift up her teammates with her infectious energy on defense and her unselfishness on offense.
2024 – Tamya Smith Tamya Smith 6'0" | SF Pleasant Grove | 2024 State AL -F 6-1 – Pleasant Grove is a post player with guard skills. “Tee” as I call her can handle the ball, loves to step out and score the three. She has potential to be a great defender. Tamya length on defense creates a lot of turnovers which leads to points more often than not. She is one of the standouts for 2022 week 1.
