In this article, I would like to break down some of the top players in Class 3A Region 3. The No. 1 see is King’s Academy. The Lions are 21-5 and have won seven straight games.
2025 Jade Jones Jade Jones 5'11" | SF King's Academy | 2025 State FL is one of the best freshman in South Florida. The 5-foot-11 forward is averaging 12.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.3 steals per game while shooting 50 percent from the field. Jones can use her length to score and defend. 5-foot-11 Janessa Williams Janessa Williams 5'10" | SF King’s Academy | 2023 State FL is a versatile playmaker that is averaging just over 10 points and six boards per game. 2022 Monique Joseph Monique Joseph 5'11" | PF King's Academy | 2022 State FL offers inside protection (6.9 rpg) and can score a bit in the paint. 5-foot-11 Jordan Race Jordan Race 5'11" | SF King's Academy | 2023 State FL can also rebound (5.9 rpg) and dish it out with 3.5 assists per game.
No. 8 seed West Shore is out of Melbourne. 2027 Adriah Mossiah is averaging 14.6 points per game. 2022 Ana Gent leads the team with 10.7 rebounds per game.
No. 2 seed Benjamin will face No.7 seed Melbourne Central Catholic. The Lady Bucs are led by 2023 Taylor Blackshear Taylor Blackshear 5'7" | SG Benjamin School | 2023 State FL . The 5-foot-7 guard is averaging a double-double with 17.6 points and 10.1 rebounds per game while tallying 7.4 steals and four assists. Blackshear does a lot for this team. 2024 Nandini Patel and 2022 Jasmine Patrick have hit 36 and 34 3-pointers, respectively. The 5-foot-2 Patrick is second on the team with 13.9 points per game.
Melbourne Central Catholic is 11-7 behind 2024 Jailyn Como (13.3 ppg) and 2022 Hannah Atchison (10.3 ppg).
No. 6 seed St. Andrew’s will face No. 3 seed Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy. 2025 Alexa Schwartz leads the Lady Scots with 12.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 3.2 steals per game. Fellow freshman Savanna Smith is not far behind with 12.3 points per contest. The Tigers, also out of Melbourne, are led by Ionna Garcia Ionna Garcia 5'11" | PF Holy Trinity Episcopal | 2022 State FL (12.5 ppg/7.9 rpg. 2023 Lynn Rieth Lynn Rieth 5'7" | SG Holy Trinity | 2023 State FL is averaging 11.7 points and four boards per game. Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy is 18-7 overall.
No. 5 seed Cardinal Newman will face No.4 seed Avon Park. The Lady Crusaders will need a big game out of double-double machine Checorey Bouie Checorey Bouie 5'11" | PF Cardinal Newman | 2023 State FL . The 5-foot-8 forward is averaging just over 13 points and ten boards per game. 5-foot-9 forward Madison Mingo Madison Mingo 5'8" | CG State FL is averaging 10.4 points and 6.5 boards per game. Furthermore, Mingo has hit a team-best 52 3-pointers. 2024 Amy Manzano (10.2 ppg) and 2023 Kori Wimberly Kori Wimberly 5'9" | SG FVS | 2023 State FL (8.7 ppg) are capable scorers.
The Red Devils come into the game with a 22-2 overall record 2023 Zoe Wortinger Zoe Wortinger 5'7" | CG Avon Park | 2023 State FL (15.6 ppg) and 2022 Jamya Houston (7.6 rpg). Avon Park have won 12 straight games. Their last loss was a two-point defeat to Okeechobee back on January 4th.
