Continue ReadingOver the course of the last week we have highlighted many of the top performers from around the state for this high school season. So far we have broken down the classes of 2022 and 2023. We will now take a look at the underclassmen in the 2024 and 2025 prospects in a two part series. These lists are done in no particular order.
Point Guards:
2024 5’7 PG Teagan Colvin (Liberty HS) – Washington regularly produces strong college prospects from small high schools and Colvin is next in line. She has been dominant in every facet statistically and helping Liberty to a 17-1 overall record while at it.
2024 5’10 PG Katie Fiso Katie Fiso 5'10" | PG Garfield | 2024 State WA (Garfield HS) – Tall, long and skilled point guard that has come on to the scene strong leading Garfield in scoring and showing the ability to knock down the three point shot. Fiso is playing with a lot of confidence and she is going to be the major key to Garfield being able to win a 3A state title.
Power Forwards:
2024 6’0 PF Jazmyn Shipp Jazmyn Shipp 6'0" | PF Bonney Lake | 2024 State WA (Bonney Lake HS) – A strong and powerful forward that is capable of doing more than playing bully ball. Shipp has a soft shooting touch and quality footwork for a sophomore in high school. She won MVP of her league leading Bonney Lake to a 12-5 record and second place finish in the 3A Pierce County League.
2025 6’1 PF Brynn McGaughy Brynn McGaughy 6'2" | SF Colfax | 2025 State WA (Colfax HS) – Another small school super standout that is one of the top performers in the 2025 class. She is a strong athlete with a real solid skill set for a freshman. She can knock down the shoot around jumper in the paint with her skill set. She has helped Colfax to the district playoffs and they are a top contender in the 2b classification.
