I intended to put in as much work on the 2A’s as I did on the All “A” (much more to come on that end as soon as I can get to it). But the only Sectional that listed the location of the games on the KHSSA Scoreboard was Sectional 3. So they were the only sectional I covered in person and I could have easily attended at least three others.
Destini McAllister – ’24 5’4″/CG – John Hardin
McAllister has D-1 athleticism on the break she was able to travel from the left wing to the hoop in 1 dribble for a layup and her leaping ability allows her to play much bigger than her frame. She was able to score on a very high alley opp pass to the left of the rim. A play that left me wondering why it was not attempted more often.
She scored 18 points and had 6 rebounds on a very efficient 9 of 14 field goals (64.3%). she made an 8 footer from the left wing, a 3 footer in the lane, and picked up a loose ball under the hoop and converted it into a reverse layup. She picked clean an opponent a drove from halfcourt fr a layup using her elite speed and scored a layup while slashing through the lane for a high-flying layup.
Grace Bale Grace Bale 5'7" | SG Taylor County | 2025 State KY – ’25 5’4″/SG – Taylor County
Taylor County advanced into the main draw in Owensboro led primarily by a pair of Freshmen and an 8th Grader. Bale scored 14 points, had 6 rebounds in the semifinals, and added another 15 points, 3 rebounds in the sectional finals. She also knocked down 81% of her free throws and made 50% of her three-point shots in the tournament.
She is averaging 11.4 points, and 3.1 rebounds while making 38.2% of her three-pointer, and 79.7% at the foul line. Her most impressive play was a drive from the right wing for a reverse layup.
Riley Sprowles Riley Sprowles 5'10" | SG Taylor County | 2025 State KY – ’25 5’8″/SG – Taylor County
Sprowles made a three from the right wing and to the left of the top while I was there while making 66.6% of her threes during the tournament. She totaled 12 points, 6 rebounds for the semis, and 15 points, 8 rebounds in the finals. She also shot 81% at the foul line and blocked a shot when I was there.
Alexis Knifley – ’26 5’6″/G – Taylor County
Knifley had 11 points and 5 rebounds while making 80% of her free throws during the semifinal game. She made a three-point shot from 5 feet deep past the line, stole a pass and powered up a running 5 footer through contact and completed the “And 1” free throw.
Natalie Gentry Natalie Gentry 5'9" | CG LaRue County | 2023 State KY – ’23 5’9″/SF – LaRue County
Gentry had 18 points, 4 rebounds with 57.1% field goal shooting in the semis, and 24 points, 8 rebounds, on 80% shooting in the finals. She made a right elbow jumper, a 14 footer from the right corner, a 6-foot corner jumper, and blocked a shot.
Off of penetration, she scored the ball on a free throw line jumper and made a tough catch in traffic for a layup after one dribble. She also turned two steals into assists in transition and made a layup in transition from an up-the-street pass.
Paige Evans – ’22 5’3″/PG – LaRue County
Evans drove a long defensive rebound up the court for a layup, made a left wing three, a running 3 footer, and tallied an assist on an up-the-street pass to a teammate for a layup. She ended up with 18 points, 4 rebounds, shooting 53.8% from the field, and made 75% of her free throws.

Keke Adams – ’24 5’8″/SG – Marion County
Adams hit 2 three-pointers from the right wing and 1 from the left wing and made 50% of those shots. She finished with 15 points, made a layup o the break, a 1 dribble power up in the post, and made all 4 of her free throws.
