There are several really nice power forward and post prospects in Indiana’s 2023 class, a few for each level of college basketball, as well as several under-the-radar kids who should shine this Spring & Summer during the grassroots season. Our Top-200 is currently home to 40 power forwards and 14 centers, making up 27.0% of all 2023 prospects ranked in Indiana. There are true, back-to-the-basket posts, defensive presences, athletes, plus wing and mid-post scoring threats. Below is a look at those 54 prospects, as well as some added information and analysis on a handful of girls who have stood out since our last rankings update in September.

, 2023, 6-0 PF, Plymouth H.S.
– I just became aware of Taylor this Winter, and she has had a strong season for the Pilgrims. She has length, an athletic frame, and she moves well in all directions. She’s capable of being physical on the interior, she can play facing the basket in the mid-post effectively, and she’s solid screening and rolling from the perimeter. She is averaging 15.3 points and 9.7 rebounds per game this Winter.

Mt. Vernon (Fortville) | 2023

, 2023, 5-9 PF, Mount Vernon H.S. (Fortville)
– After growing up in the New Palestine system, Khloe transferred to Mount Vernon this Fall. She is a strong, physical, and athletic forward who plays with a tremendous motor. She can act as strictly a defender/rebounder type, but she can also score it around the block and in the mid-post when the Marauders need that from her. Typically, she is highly productive by simply outworking her matchups.

Woodlan | 2023

, 2023, 5-9 PF, Woodlan H.S.
– Evah is a strong, hard-working front-liner who plays with an outstanding motor. I first saw her in Sectional play her Freshman year, when she had a nice performance against a good Garrett team. She’s one of those kids who is just productive, and you win with. She does a lot of the blue-collar things on the floor, defends, rebounds, and gets “scraps” baskets inside. She has really found her niche as a player.

Boone Grove | 2023
IN
, 2023, 5-11 PF/SF, Boone Grove H.S.
– Jaci is someone who I think the elite small colleges in the Midwest will really fall in love with over the course of the Spring & Summer this year. She is a wiry-strong, tough-nosed, and physical kid, but she is also skillful and understands how to play facing the basket. She almost has a European style to her game, and she has continued improving her shooting this Winter (41% from 3; 73% free throws).

Columbus East | 2023
State
IN
, 2023, 6-1 PF, Columbus East H.S.
– There are times when a player “figures it out” and turns the proverbial corner, and this Winter has been exactly that for Saige. She’s always seen Varsity minutes and contributed, but this year she is nearly averaging a double-double (17.4p, 9.3r) and has highs of 26 points (2x) and 15 rebounds. She is an extremely long, fluidly athletic, and somewhat bouncy prospect with nice touch to 18-feet as well.
Mackenzie Thomas

Carmel | 2023
IN
, 2023, 6-1 C, Carmel H.S.
– Mackenzie saw Varsity time last year, but this Winter she is averaging 12.1 points and 5.6 rebounds per game, using her strong, powerful frame to dominate the interior, and it has been necessary considering injuries, etc., that Carmel has faced. Mackenzie can control the pivot, but she also has touch. She can knock down the occasional 3-pointer, plus she is shooting 72% from the line in 2021-2022.
Keep an eye on…
Amiyah Buchanan

Evansville North | 2023
State
IN
, 2023, 6-0 PF, Evansville North H.S.
– I spoke about Amiyah in the Fall as someone who moved into Indiana from Alabama, and I had heard she flashed potential in a Fall league in Evansville. With a season under her belt now, she has been majorly impactful for the Huskies, averaging 11.3 points and 7.4 rebounds per game on a deep frontline. She is a long, fluidly athletic pogo-stick, and as she continues to get stronger, she’ll only be more consistent.
Cristen Carter

Ben Davis | 2023
State
IN
, 2023, 6-3 C, Ben Davis H.S.
– Two years ago, Cristen was just starting to scratch the surface. Last year, she showed big-time potential in flashes. Now, she’s a much more complete, strong, physical, and athletic frontline presence who is hard to match up with. She has great length, an athletically powerful frame, and she works hard at both ends of the floor. She picked up her first Division-I offer earlier this season, and more should come soon.
Reagan Martin

5'11" | PF
Owen Valley | 2023
IN
, 2023, 5-10 PF, Owen Valley H.S.
– Reagan is in her third year as a Varsity player, and while she’s shown steady improvement, this year she has really taken off and become more of a leader for the Lady Patriots. She is averaging 18.8 points and 8.6 rebounds per game, but she has also knocked down 42 3-pointers and is averaging nearly five points per game at the charity stripe. She is a really nice, inside-out power forward with a motor.
