Our Freshman class rankings have expanded from 30 to 45 players and the depth in this class is really good at such an early age. The top 5 did not change much but there are a ton of new names and lots of movement in the list. Here’s a look at the top new names in 2025.
[player_tooltip player_id="403464" first="Grace" last="Mbugua"], Danville Christian - Grace is a matchup problem for every team she runs up against thanks to her height and continually improving skill level. Mbugua averaged an impressive 17 points and 15 rebounds per game and will need to be discussed with the top players in the class
[player_tooltip player_id="403465" first="Abby" last="Gilbert"], Jackson County - Like Mbugua, Abby is a big power forward to averaged a double double for her Freshman season. Gilbert was among the top players in the state with over 61% field goal percentage and showed potential as a stretch 4 as she knocked down a handful of 3s.
[player_tooltip player_id="403466" first="Khania" last="Jones"], Central Hardin - With the Lindsay twins gone to play at the next level, Jones will go from a role player to the main option for the Central Hardin offense next season. She's a volume scorer who should get the lion's share of the shots next season and could be a breakout player in the 5th next season.
[player_tooltip player_id="403467" first="Kinsley" last="Molden"], Southwestern - Kinsley is a three level scorer who helped get Southwestern back to Rupp Arena this season and has them set up for success for the years ahead. Molden is a good shooter but is at her best when attacking the rim and not having to force her offense. She's a player to watch for D1 schools around the state for sure.
[player_tooltip player_id="386151" first="Maleiyah" last="Moore"], Scott County - The split of Scott County into two high schools has finally taken it's toll on the Cards but Moore was a bright spot this season. Maleiyah was a capable second scorer on offense and capable of affecting the game in multiple ways other than scoring. Moore could be the highest scoring Sophomore in the region next season.
