I’ll do the same for the 4A and 6A SIMMIES today yet I’ll catch all 6 games on Saturday, maybe. College Station couldn’t buy a bucket and wound up losing to Cedar Park, I thought the Cougars had a shot after Gisella Maul Gisella Maul 5'10" | SG Cedar Park | 2023 State TX sat most of the first half in foul trouble as well as being knocked around numerous times with the double team, she handled herself very well, yet they just couldn’t pull it off. With that being said, I predicted an Amarillo vs Cedar Park championship yet those Lott sisters from Frisco Memorial didn’t care about my predictions and they advanced read more

Shelby Hayes Shelby Hayes 6'1" | PF Cedar Park | 2022 State TX
Hayes scored over 20 points, had at least 10 rebounds, which equates to a double-double but numbers sometimes lie and don’t tell the story, well they didn’t lie those times yet they didn’t tell the whole story and she was virtually unstoppable using that great “hands and footwork” combination that used to be abundant in the #THROWBACK era yet the Rice signee took me back to when I first saw her play and knew she would be special, although I didn’t know her name at the time alas, she’s in a good position to close her career with back to back state championships as well as going undefeated
Jasmyn Lott Jasmyn Lott 5'8" | CG Memorial | 2022 State TX
Lott dropped over 20, I tweeted something that popped into my head when I was watching the game at 2am, fell asleep before it started yet LIVESTREAM has it on DEMAND, and what popped into my head was after the Houston Rockets won the NBA Championship and Akeem Olajuwon called Clyde Drexler a “one-man fast break” Lott was a one-woman fast-break yet her explosiveness off the dribble, as well as her stop and pop jumper in transition as well as her 3 ball, was just too much to handle and to be honest, her team showed me even more depth than it did when I caught them in December at the Spring Creek Mansfield Rotary Invitational, use the search bar
Angelecia Alexander-5’7 G Frisco Memorial [20243
Alexander was on fire, don’t remember much about her back in December, nor junior Brynn Lusby-6’0 F and freshman Makayla Vation-5’10 G yet all three played important parts in their advancing to the championship game but let me go back to Alexander who dropped multiple long-balls throughout the game and that changed the complexion of everything because it allowed more freedom for the Lott sisters and opened up doors. Lusby was solid on both ends, the upside of this trio as well as the baby Lott will keep this squad relevant next season
Molly Ly Molly Ly 5'5" | PG Cedar Park | 2023 State TX
Ly is one of those players that SIMply excited me when I caught her before her first middle school game with her slight HEZ and scoring off the dribble while hanging in the air using body control but don’t forget about the 3 and she showed why I said that last night as the announcers even got excited but she did a good job running the team while Maul was in foul trouble and made sure the ball was distributed yet her handling of the ball while being pressured certainly grabbed whatever college coaches were watching, either LIVE, LIVESTREAM or like I woke up to MEMOREX
Briley Barnes Briley Barnes 6'1" | SF Amarillo | 2022 State TX
Barnes was a force around the basket, on both ends. I recently added her to the New Editions, ironically her initials are the same as one of the members of that now-defunct group yet I saw even more of what she brought to the table, especially in the clutch and her poise just stood out, so did her desire and she’ll be due for an upgrade after I catch her this summer. My bad, New Additions lol
McKenzie Smith McKenzie Smith 5'11" | SF Amarillo | 2023 State TX
Smith was also just added to that New Additions list, no one has her initials yet I have her game as being a hit. She did everything I said she was at Spring Creek yet using the search bar, it appears I had caught her during the club season as well, I STRESS over and over to USE THE SEARCH BAR but she just searched ways to put the ball in the basket and her mental toughness just grabbed me as she showed that “never give up attitude
Falyn Lott Falyn Lott 6'1" | SF Frisco Memorial | 2024 State TX
Lott was, well is, even better than I thought and this right here, the trip to the state championship, with her sister is one of those lasting memories they’ll never forget yet mom played in Big 12, Texas I believe and those apples ain’t fall ar from the tree because I see so much of yesteryear in both players that I just smile but being “long and athletic” playing the passing lane and defending is one thing, rebounding on both ends is another, I loved how she created her shot, mid to long-range and scored off the dribble and to be honest with you, that championship just might …
