Kylie Ortega (DBK 8th Grade)
Ortega has some extremely high upside because she already gets it, well she gives it too with her pressure defense yet her attacking the rim and finishing after contact was just as impressive as her dropping the jumper with a hand in her face but throw in she rebounds well on both ends so be ready
Noelle Swanson (Just Play 13U)
Swanson makes me think about Christmas when I see her name because I know I’m about to receive a present because she left a lasting first impression a few years ago and the progression continues because she plays the passing lane, attacks off the dribble to score, or just drops the jumper while being defended yet she’s creating her shot even better, defense “on the ball” is up as well
Alexandra Gordon (Just Play 13U)
Gordon showed a FLASH of brilliance in so many ways because of her size, hands and footwork, and ability to finish, this includes putbacks, yes she rebounds on both ends but she also showed she could step outside the lane and attack from the wing, that’s important because she’s showing versatility at a young age
Kaelyn Blanchard (League City Sharks)
Blanchard is “long and athletic” pay attention because that’s the base I use before giving pluses and right now, her potential is very high because of her timing to block, alter and deflect shots but she also scored around the rim nicely. She rebounds on both ends, she runs the floor, nice lateral movement on defense, even stepped out of the paint to defend
Garlynn Grant (IJU 14U)
Grant showed she could be a nice floor GENERAL yet generally speaking I love the way she creates her shot under pressure and goes hard, either off the dribble, nice first step, and finishing with power yet she also gets off the ground with power and can drop the mid to long-range jumper
Kilah Long (Lady Drive Nation Massey)
Long has the right last name because she is “long and athletic” see above on why I like that but what I LOVE to see players do is “play the passing lane” I’m just into #THROWBACK stuff yet her timing enabled her to throw some opposing shots back, she can take the defender off the dribble with either hand and plays solid defense
Destini Etier (Lady Drive Nation Massey)
Etier is also “long and athletic” and I enjoyed her desire to play “on the ball” defense as much as watching her go after rebounds yet she has a very nice first step mand she uses it to go by defenders and when you factor in her “body control” and ability to finish after contact, she’s ahead of the game
Paige Rolls (TNBA13U)
Rolls definitely has tinted the windows as she drops dimes like Penny but you won’t catch that but be ready to catch her passes because her “court vision” at this stage says a lot about what’s coming, she’s heady and plays under control so when showed she could not only attack and finish but drop the jumper yet that step back definitely dropped the mic, well my pad
Kylie Lou (TNBA 13U)
Lou attacked from, well everywhere yet what I enjoyed, even more, were her finishes as she knew the contact was coming and stayed with it, that’s HUGE right now but get this, she’s learning how to create contact while attacking which will give her numerous options but her “on the ball defense” was also nice
