Mwenentanda was chosen as the South Dakota Gatorade Player Of The Year and was a nationally ranked prospect by ESPN. She is a rarity to come out of the state of South Dakota, and although she didn’t finish with a state title, she individually had a great tournament, leading the tournament in scoring at 17.0 ppg. She also brought down 9.3 rebounds per game. Texas women’s basketball now has many South Dakota eyes.
Hilary Behrens Hilary Behrens 6'1" | SG Brandon Valley | 2023 State SD – 6’1 G/F 2023 – Brandon Valley – Hilary played her normal game and playing in the state tournament didn’t change her demeanor or playing style one bit. She was aggressive to score and was trying to make plays on defense. She was the third-leading scorer in the AA tournament at 16.0 ppg. Committed to SDSU.
Cierra Watkins Cierra Watkins 5'6" | PG Sioux Falls Jefferson | 2023 State SD – 5’6 G 2023 – Sioux Falls Jefferson – Cierra came to play on both ends of Jefferson’s opening round upset over Washington. Offensively, she was so smooth, both scoring and making plays as a passer. Made great decisions with the ball and let everything come to her – not forcing any action. Ran the offensive game-plan and scored 15 points as well. Was really impressed by Cierra and her approach to the game-plan.

If she wasn’t such a good softball player, she’d be an NCAA center.
Jaidyn Dunn Jaidyn Dunn 6'1" | PF Sioux Falls Jefferson | 2024 State SD – 6’1 F 2024 – Sioux Falls Jefferson – Jaidyn had a really nice opening round game against Washington, and was a big-time playmaker down the stretch of the game – rebounding the ball – and making a steal in the backcourt for a transition two. Jaidyn’s defensive rebounding was crucial for Jefferson to secure victories in the state tournament. She pulled down 11.7 per contest.
Aliyah McGovern-Harrington Aliyah McGovern-Harrington 5'6" | CG Sioux Falls Jefferson | 2024 State SD – 5’4 G 2024 – Sioux Falls Jefferson – Aliyah’s four three-point makes may have been the difference in her team pulling off an upset win over Washington. A small guard with a smooth three-point game. A stand-still shooter you can’t give space.
Kylie Foss Kylie Foss 5'6" | PG Brandon Valley | 2022 State SD – 5’6 PG 2022 – Brandon Valley – Kylie is a Senior point guard that coaches dream of. Plays the point position like a true pro. Not to mention she had a great state tournament to end her career. In the tournament, she averaged 10.3 ppg. and fought like a Senior for 8.3 rpg., with 11 in her last game. A great and underrated career for Kylie Foss Kylie Foss 5'6" | PG Brandon Valley | 2022 State SD .
Sydney Hybertson Sydney Hybertson 5'8" | SG Harrisburg | 2022 State SD – 5’8 SG 2022 – Harrisburg – The Senior guard is so overlooked, but her skills and IQ are elite. She deserves a send-off as well for her approach and skill development she’s taken so seriously. Her career didn’t end in a state title, but count on her refining her skills the next four years at the University of Mary. 5-10 from three in her final state tournament.
