Regardless of the number these 5 are certainly the star of the paint for the foreseeable future with 1 certain D1 prospect and likely 4 more once they get their chance to shine in the absence of talented teammates from the class of ’22.
Marissa Green Marissa Green 6'3" | C Highlands | 2025 State KY – 6’3″ – Highlands
Green has good footwork for defending on the perimeter and the length, athleticism, and fluidity of movement to be a beast in the paint. Next season I will need to make it a point to see her play against other talented Bigs for a better evaluation.
She averaged 14 points on 57.4% field goal shooting and had 9.6 rebounds per game while playing for a young team that finished in the middle of the pack in the 9th Region.
Her balance appears to be ahead of schedule for a player of her size and she has developed the fundamentals needed for a Big to go with her physical gifts. She still has tons of time to keep working on her game and multiple facets to improve, but she is going to be a high-level prospect before she goes to College.
Juliana Frazee Juliana Frazee 6'1" | C Franklin County | 2025 State KY – 6’1″ – Franklin County
Frazee has a sturdy frame that cannot be pushed around in the paint and is in a good place to receive the kind of Coaching a Big needs to have success.
She ranked 13th in Field Goal percentage (59.3%) in the KHSAA this past season while playing a reserve role for a team that was loaded with talented size. She scored 4.8 points and grabbed 4.1 rebounds and will probably average around a double-double next season. Someone has to inherit the points and rebound left behind by graduating Seniors and I suspect Frazee will get her share.
Addison Kincaid Addison Kincaid 6'3" | C Sacred Heart Academy | 2025 State KY – 6’0″ – CAL
Kincaid averaged 7.2 points and 5.9 rebounds on a team loaded with athletic size competing for rebounds and touches. She has a high motor and good straight-ahead speed to make for a rim-runner. She also has good length and timing for pulling down rebounds and blocking shots
There are not enough balls to go around for the defending 2A State Champions for all players to shine individually in each game but as a team, they have the talent to go far. The play-style of the next Coach could make a huge difference in the development of Kincaid and her very capable teammates.
Sophia Gibson Sophia Gibson 6'4" | C Notre Dame Academy | 2025 State KY – 6’3″ – Notre Dame
The last time I saw Gibson play it was near Christmas and she was coming off the bench and offering a Defensive change of pace for a team that was loaded with talented Seniors. She was mainly playing the role of a Rim Protector and doing so quite well.
She got 3.4 points and 2.9 rebounds a game this season while not seeing a lot of playing time. That is likely to change next year and she will likely be a featured played on both ends of the court. Expect to see the defense built around her and for her to be a key component of the inside-outside attack with a teammate that is one of the best shooters in the Commonwealth.
Corinne Trammell Corinne Trammell 5'11" | C McCreary Central | 2025 State KY – 6’0″ – McCreary Central
Trammel made 40.6% of her three-point shots last season in a losing effort for an extremely young team. That is a high percentage but seems like a symptom of being behind too often in games more than a plan A sort of strategy to me. But I have not seen her play, perhaps I am wrong.
She averaged 7 points, 5.3 rebounds on the year and that will likely improve as she and her teammates will all get the chance to mature next season while some of their opponents will age out of the competition.
Next season I will have to make it a point to see her play. Somebody on staff has a high opinion of her and I have never been disappointed by the talent of anyone else ranked on our site. Keep training kid. You are on my radar now.
