It’s not that hard, it takes very little effort on the part of the sender because the receiver ain’t going that extra mile unless it’s what I consider a “can’t miss” possibility yet even with rosters, and although I didn’t catch everyone, here’s what I have from who I caught in the Big 12 Division
Anna Tristy (Greenwood HS) Shock 2024
Tristy had me smiling as I watched her create her shot with ease under pressure to either attack or drop the pull-up jumper yet something about her first step just grabbed me because she got to the basket with either hand and finished strongly after contact. Her mid-range game was consistent, which was huge because it’s a “lost art”
Addison Mootry Addison Mootry 5'5" | CG Inola | 2024 State OK (Inola HS) Team Grifin 2024
Mootry is just turning into a “Tip Sheet” waiting to happen because every time I see her she shows me a little something extra yet her “poise under pressure” while handling the ball and controlling the tempo always stands out. She sees the floor, makes the right passes, and drops the jumper to keep the defender honest
Madison Martin Madison Martin 5'7" | PG State TX (Little Elm) HG Elite 2024 S40
Martin continues to elevate her game like the above picture shows her elevating for the jumper. I love seeing players land on their feet and fall into the right situation for them, her court vision, her attacking off the dribble as well as her jumper were all noted by me while she was still in elementary school yet her playing the passing lane as well as her “on the ball” defense just does it for me
Madison Carter Madison Carter 5'8" | CG Wright City | 2024 State OK (Wright City HS) Fusion 2024
Carter has MC for her initials and she definitely “dropped the mic” because when you leave a lasting first impression with me, that speaks volumes so let me turn it up with her blistering passes in traffic, yet her battling for everything gives her #THROWBACK and her punishing finishes, with either hand just had me smiling. Nice athleticism yet that strength, yesssss
Iyanna Billups (Shoemaker HS) Competitive Edge 2024
Billups had me calling her FILLUPS because her ability to create points for her team was one of the best I saw at the event and here’s why. She can score from mid to long-range as well as off the dribble #sizedontmatter when you can play, yet her court-vision and decision-making got her teammates good looks. To say she has turned a corner would be an understatement
Elizabeth Romer Elizabeth Romer 5'10" | SF Kapaun Mt. Carmel | 2024 State KS – Kansas United 2024
Romer showed the pull-up jumper early and continued to show yet more importantly knock it down with a hand in her face. Her mid-range, again, that’s a lost art, was consistent, the shot is fluid and the release is quick yet she also does a good job of creating her shot under pressure in the set and showed she could attack and finish
McKenzie Mathurin McKenzie Mathurin 5'10" | CG Broken Arrow | 2025 State OK -Broken Arrow (Oklahoma Swift Mathurin) [2025]
Mathurin falls into so many categories yet her double-digit D1 offers as a freshman shows that if you can play, and you show it in front of college coaches, no one cares about any platform, it’s just that simple so watching her maturity on the floor at a young age, her college-ready frame in middle school, okay I guess that pull-up jumper had something to do with me calling her a #D1Lock a while back yet her range continues to get deeper, around NBA range right now, but her BB-IQ is just off the chart and you go from good to great when you “make those around you better” which is what she is doing
