The tournament was host to about 180+ teams and the girls programs were in full effect. The tournament host behind the scenes and the hardest working man in basketball is Quincy Quintero he has done a great job coming up with some key events. Here are a few girls we were impressed with this weekend, they were the ones that put in the work for our staff to see.
Tymiah Tsinnie, G, 5’4 – scrappy guard that we believe is still learning how to play the game, she is really aggressive but has not figured out how to use it on the floor. Genuine lefty as well, nice stroke on her shot and can run the floor and is quick as a cat in our opinion. She will only get better game by game, but she caught our eyes at the event.
Brianna Lincoln, G, 5’4 – shooting guard that plays hard and run the floor to catch and finish at the rim. She kept her offender in front at all times and was a vocal player on the floor when we watched her play. She can score the ball at the rim with a layup or a midrange shot, but her best attribute to us was her spirit on the floor.
Aubrey Begay, F, 5’5 – decent guard type that has some athletic ability to play the game. She is a good defender and one of the fastest guards on the floor. She was a speed demon in our opinion, able to run a girl down and stop them from scoring. She rebounded well for her size and ran the floor and could finish around the rim.
Kayli Bennett, F, 5’7 – long and lanky forward that can score in transition and run the floor like a gazelle. She plays defense and is a good passer for her position, she could play some guard if she was allowed to. We like her body type, she is built to play this game, she can run and jump and is a very good defender as well, she impressed us with her tenacity.
Mathis Dritz, SG – nice shooting guard with a great touch on her shot, knocks down shots from anywhere on the floor and is a threat to score at any moment. She is also skilled on the defensive end of the floor, showing us how she can put a stop to her opponent at will. Very impressed with this kid…
Quinsey Bryan, SG – Solid shooting guard with a nice stroke on her shot, great size for a guard and one of the most solid of the group. Defends a ton, can really get after her opponent and keep them at bay, was refreshing to see. They were too much for the team they played, but they kept it respectable and did what they were suppose to do on the floor.
Chasity Muradzikwa, PG – scrappy young guard with a chip on her shoulder, plays hard and is not afraid to take shots against the older girls on the floor. She took good shot, but the first few did not go in, most youngins would of stop shooting, but Chasity kept them going and what do you know, they started to fall, a few layups, a runner and a midrange shot from outside, all good. All of that talent wrapped up into a 7th grader, you heard me, 7th grader, ALERT, Coaches.
Bella Harmon, F – agile forward that knows how the run the floor and finish in the paint thru contact. Knows how to make plays for herself and teammates on both sides of the ball. She is also a tenacious defender and keeps her opponent in front of her at all times. One of the more solid forwards I saw at this age group this weekend. She was a good one coaches, take a look.
Mei-Ling Perry, CG – another solid guard type with a strong game, we mean the way she played the game was with nothing but strength and agility. She is a good rebounder, could push the ball and get easy layups and was one of the more aggressive players at both ends of the floor. She shot the ball pretty well from midrange and at the rim she was able to finish thru contact. We were impressed with this one as well.
