Who would you want with the game on the line? I have excluded the 2022 class in this discussion.
Let’s look at my picks…
Lena Girardi Lena Girardi 5'10" | SF IMG Academy | 2025 State FL – Westminster Academy
2025 Lena Girardi Lena Girardi 5'10" | SF IMG Academy | 2025 State FL should have a ton of confidence after helping Westminster Academy to a state championship. The 6-foot guard/forward shot 49 percent from the field while averaging over 20 points per game. Girardi also shot 40 percent from deep. Her length and poise makes her a strong candidate to demand the ball.
Kendra Bentley Kendra Bentley 5'8" | CG Santaluces | 2023 State FL – Santaluces
Kendra Bentley Kendra Bentley 5'8" | CG Santaluces | 2023 State FL is an efficient shooter. The 5-foot-8 guard shot 49 percent from the floor while averaging 24.5 points per game. She also knocked down 71 3-pointers at a 37 percent rate. Furthermore, Bentley shot 50 percent or better from the field in 13 games in which she scored 25 or more points. I think she’s the type of player that wants the ball near the end of a game.
Emily Montes Emily Montes 5'9" | CG Palmer Trinity | 2023 State FL / Jade Leon Jade Leon 5'11" | CG Palmer Trinity | 2024 State FL
Miami Palmer Trinity should be comfortable in the last five minutes with either Montes or Leon. Both players have size (5’10) to shoot and create in the backcourt. Montes and Leon combined to average 25.7 points per game while knocking down 35 3-pointers. Montes is a rising senior and is committed to Columbia. She was named 1st Team All Miami-Dade County by the Miami Herald. Leon is a rising junior and was named 2nd Team All Miami-Dade County.
Jade Jones Jade Jones 5'11" | SF King's Academy | 2025 State FL – King’s Academy
2025 Jade Jones Jade Jones 5'11" | SF King's Academy | 2025 State FL is already one of the best players in Palm Beach County. The 5-foot-11 small forward shot 51 percent from the field and 47 percent as an eight grader. Her length and athleticism gives her an advantage in the open floor as well as the halfcourt. Jones has already played in 52 career games and logged over 1300 minutes at King’s Academy. Her experience combined with her skill is only increasing. Look for Jones to have a big circuit season.
Kalia Harrington Kalia Harrington 5'8" | SG St. Thomas Aquinas | 2024 State FL – Mater Lakes Academy
2024 Kalia Harrington Kalia Harrington 5'8" | SG St. Thomas Aquinas | 2024 State FL had good numbers from the field for Mater Lakes Academy. The 5-foot-9 guard shot 49 percent overall and 41 percent from deep. She also put up similar numbers as a freshman. From the perimeter, Harrington shot 38 percent or better while hitting at least three 3-pointers. She is a player you can trust in the fourth quarter from all levels of the floor. Her teammate, Khadee Hession Khadee Hession 5'10" | CG St Thomas Aquinas | 2024 State FL is also a reliable shot maker after posting a team-best 49 percent from the field. Her height (5’10) and athleticism is difficult to defend coming out of the guard spot.
Alancia Ramsey Alancia Ramsey 6'0" | PF St Thomas Aquinas | 2023 State FL – St. Thomas Aquinas
Given her power around the paint, I think 2023 Alancia Ramsey Alancia Ramsey 6'0" | PF St Thomas Aquinas | 2023 State FL can be a go to player in the fourth quarter. The 6-foot power forward averaged nearly 13 points per game. Ramsey can score with her back to the basket and off offensive rebounds. Furthermore, her toughness and motor can provide the critical play to put her team over the top. Ramsey was a 7A-6A All-County selection by the Sun Sentinel.
