Phantasia Lauriston (ECU Gibson 2025). Lauriston stood out from the moment I saw her play. She plays with a very high basketball IQ and that stood out immediately. She rebounded well, made good passes, and mainly just made the correct basketball play. She knew the spots to get to in the court. She followed shots knowing where to be for the rebound and putbacks. Lauriston knows how to put the ball in the basket and that was evident even in her Freshman year in high school where she averaged nearly 10 points per game.
Paris Washington (ECU Caswell 2025) was very fluid on the court. She has very good speed and athleticism. Washington shot the ball well and can shoot it from all levels of the court. Washington does a good job of advancing the ball up the courts and rebounds well from the guard position. Washington did a good job of running the offense and facilitating to her teammates.
Sy’Monique Simon (Always 100 Florida 2025) was really impressive with her basketball savvy and abilities as a young point guard. I was really impressed by her competitiveness and the confidence she plays with. Simon plays with a motor that is non-stop and she also has great awareness of the court. She was excellent in transition and consistently drove the ball “coast to coast” for the basket. Simon created shots for herself, but she also showed the ability to create quality shots for her teammates. Simon scored at all levels on the court. Simon is also a tenacious defender. In the showcase, she applied great on-ball pressure on the opposing ball handlers she faced.
Jayden Terry Jayden Terry 5'8" | CG GHS - Gainesville | 2025 State FL (ECU Family 2025) Terry was so smooth and made the offensive game look so simple. Terry can shoot the ball at all levels and can really stroke it from long range. She has a good mid-range game and can also get to the basket. Terry has a knack for putting the ball in the basket and she can score in flurries. She was also very solid defensively and did a good job of rebounding from the guard position.
Janiah Suprius Janiah Suprius 5'5" | CG Seminole Ridge | 2025 State FL (Team Knight 2025 ) was really impressive at the guard position. The lefty had very nice handles and was very crafty with the ball in her hands. She did a good job of handling pressure and leading her team. Suprius made some nice passes to teammates and did a good job of attacking the rim. She was also impressive at rebounding from the guard position. position.
Alanna Tatum Alanna Tatum 5'6" | PG University Christian | 2026 State FL 2026 (ECU Family 2025) was a defensive wizard on the court during the showcase tournament. Tatum has the ability to make great talent look normal at times. Tatum is very poised on the court and plays with a high basketball IQ. Throughout the showcase, Tatum was matched up against some good guards who could not solve Tatum’s defense. Tatum made some good plays on the offensive end, but her ball pressure, steals, deflections and her ability to block shots from the guard position is what stood out.
