The talk of college basketball is the transfer portal with over 1,000 women’s basketball players in the transfer portal with plans to change colleges. And while the transfer portal is very popular in the college game, the conversation on the travel ball circuit is that the original transfer portal started with summer ball teams. With the spring/summer travel ball season kicked off, we take a look at some members of the class of 2023 that are suiting up for new teams.
Chloe Kitts Chloe Kitts 6'2" | SF Faith Christian Academy | 2022 FL (Central Florida Elite to Southeast All Stars)
Kitts is the biggest name in Florida playing for a new travel team. She played in a couple events for Central Florida Elite last summer and saw her stock explode, picking up interest from pretty much every BCS and top 25 program in the country. Chloe along with her sister Kylee will suit up this spring/summer for the newly formed Southeast All Stars formed by Brandon Clay. The 6’3 Kitts, is a long, skilled , versatile wing player who is one of the most coveted prospects in the country due to her exceptional length and scoring ability.
Olivia Davis Olivia Davis 5'7" | CG Cardinal Mooney | 2023 State FL (Alabama Southern Starz to Always 100)
Davis, recently verbally committed to the University of Tampa after leading Cardinal Mooney to a stellar season averaging 16.2 points per game! At 5’6, Davis can play both the point guard and shooting guard position, equally balancing distributing the ball, as well as finding scoring opportunities for herself. She does a good job, putting the ball in both her left and right hand, equally knocking down open shots as well as attacking the paint and scoring at the rim. She is a selfless floor leader who has good decision making skills.
Liv Fuller Liv Fuller 5'10" | SF Clearwater | 2023 State FL (FGB to Always 100)
Fuller is on the move again, suiting up for the newly formed Always 100 Elite out of Sarasota. Fuller is a recent Georgia Southern verbal commit, who is one of the state’s top athletes and is not afraid to do the dirty work. She is an old school, blue collar player, who lays it on the line consistently every game, going to the glass, blocking shots, diving on the floor for loose balls, and taking charges.
Karina Gordon Karina Gordon 5'8" | CG St. Thomas Aquinas | 2023 State FL (FGB to Miami Suns)
Fresh off a Broward Player of the Year nomination and a state championship with St. Thomas Aquinas, Gordon returns to the Miami Suns after playing for FGB the last few years. Gordon burst onto the exposure scene back in middle school, showcasing her athleticism and scoring ability at a young age. The 5’8 guard had an exceptional Junior year, consistently producing on the court averaging 13.8 points per game. She will be relied upon heavily on the 17U EYBL circuit for the Miami Suns for both her scoring ability and her defense.
Khyala Ngodu Khyala Ngodu 6'2" | PF Dillard | 2023 State FL (GT Queens to Miami Suns)
Ngodu has been one of the top players in Broward County for Dillard HS and has played with GT Queens in the past. She joins the Miami Suns Team Fowles 17U squad heading into her Senior year. At 6’2, she has the ability to score using both hands and can play inside and out. She has showcased her ability to knock it down from 15 feet, rebound on both ends, and consistently be a double digit scorer.
Kiaraly Cabrera Kiaraly Cabrera 5'7" | CG Naples Community School | 2023 State FL (SWFL Trinity to Miami Suns)
Cabrera returns to the Miami Suns, after running with SWFL Trinity out of Sarasota/Naples/Ft Myers area last summer. Cabrera is expected to be one of the Miami Suns Gold squad top scorers, utilizing her athleticism, smooth handle, and creative finishing ability at the rim to be a bucket getter!
E’Zaria Adams E’Zaria Adams 5'8" | SF Palm Beach Central | 2023 State FL (KA Nightmares to Miami Suns)
Adams can do a little bit of everything, playing the point guard, shooting guard, and wing spots for Palm Beach Central HS. She transitions from the KA Nightmares to the Miami Suns and brings with her a competitive spirit, ability to attack off the dribble and get to the free throw line. She has the ability to be a spark coming off the bench, with her pressure defense and infectious energy.
