Sometimes I just get lucky with the pictures and capturing Kiley Sours and [player_tooltip player_id="417348" first="Kayla" last="Jones"] battling for positioning on the cover, while First Team All-Tournament [player_tooltip player_id="197957" first="Tiani" last="Ellison"] is in the mix as well and would be on several Tip Sheets yet here we go Kiley Sours-6'3 C- Lady Jets 2023 3SSB Sours game is sweet as I play on words yet watching her power in the paint, on both ends was impressive as she understands boxing out and getting the outlet going yet she also has nice moves in the paint and showed me a #THROWBACK, the drop step [player_tooltip player_id="417348" first="Kayla" last="Jones"]-6'0 PF (Moore HS) Team Trae Young 2023 Jones also gets a #THROWBACK simply because she battles for everything off the rim and her desire just stayed the same all event as she finished on outbacks, as well as showed she could score off the dribble and drop the jumper [player_tooltip player_id="321722" first="Jacey" last="Crawford"]-6'2 C/PF (Stillwater HS) Oklahoma Swift 2023 Crawford started the event rejecting so many shots, well either that or giving the offensive player something to think about that she was a GAMECHANGER but she defended all event, scored both inside and facing the basket as well as rebounded Jadie Hines-6'3 C (Fordyce HS) AKYB Academy 2023 Hines was cooking around the basket, yeah she has a college-ready frame and understands how to use it. Nice hands and footwork, another #THROWBACK, plus she rebounds on both ends and did a good job with the interior defense Rylee Verdun-6'0 PF (Dallas Thunder) Texas Platinum 2023 Bates Verdun can do so many things, like score around the basket, rebound on both ends and block shots for fun and when she gets tired of that, she just steps out and drops the mid to long-range with ease Coriana Fulbright-6'1 C (Dekalb HS) Texas Lady Hoopsters 2023 Fulbright kept my eyes full and brightened them numerous times as she used her body well around the basket, and scored off putbacks, yes she rebounds on both ends and did a good job defensively Darah Stewart-6'0 (Braswell HS) Team Stay Ready 2023 Stewart has a deceptive first step to get to the rim yet her footwork around the rim, coupled with her being long and athletic was huge as she scored, rebounded, and blocked shots [player_tooltip player_id="197963" first="Meredith" last="Mayes"]-6'0 PF/C (Bixby HS) Team Griffin Elite 2023 Wernli Mayes showed the up and under over and over and it gave her several buckets yet she's long and athletic, did a good job rebounding and defending and her timing was good [player_tooltip player_id="311895" first="Danielle" last="Porter"]-6'1 PF (Dickinson HS) Houston Queens Elite 2023 Porter is long and athletic, rebounds on both ends, finishes strong, and defends, both in and outside the paint but her running the floor on both ends is always a treat because she just goes hard Mallory Millington-5'11 PF/C (Argyle HS) True Texas Hoops 2023 [2024] Millington was another player showing the "hands and footwork" I grew accustomed to seeing from another era, yeah #THROWBACK yet she finishes powerfully, rebounds the same way, on both ends Akira Hawk-6'2 C/PF (Pittsburg) G.O.C. 2024 Hawk flew in and gave me my first look and it was a good one as she scored both on putbacks and maneuvering around the basket yet her timing was nice and she showed she could face the basket and score Addison Wragge-6'0 C/PF (Marcus HS) True Texas Hoops 2024 National Wragge sent me a subliminal message off the top and showed she could do more than score inside and rebound because that mid to long-range was also nice but watching her hit the boards and finish on putbacks had me smiling [player_tooltip player_id="158876" first="Leaire" last="Nicks"]-6'0 PF (Wylie East HS) Lady Jets 2024 3SSB Nicks ain't related to Stevie but she's a hit is what I wrote after I first saw her and her attacking the rim and dropping the winning shot was captured by me Isabella King-6'1 C (Braswell HS) Team Stay Ready 2023 [2025] King has the body and strength to create some problems and her progression over the season has been noticed as she's finishing stronger, with players hanging on her and her upside is huge Caleah Kennedy-6'0 Lady Sharks [2025] Kennedy is long and athletic, yeah I love that because it's the base and her upside will take her to another level. The timing is very nice, so is her rebounding and playing the passing lane and she scores on putbacks Jaslene Howell-6'0 C/PF (Pawnee) Graham's Shooting Stars Academy 2023 [2026] Howell keeps bringing IT and showing she will be a force to be reckoned with. College ready frame right now finishes strongly after contact, rebounds, and runs the floor Maccie Bain-6'2 C (Kiowa) G.O.C. 2026 Bain also has that college-ready frame yet she's showing the "hands and footwork" thing is going to be hard to handle in high school because not only does she finish after contact, she does it with either hand
