The prospects of North Tartan 15U Nike — I’ve heard of — but haven’t seen them play extensively until Lake Slam. It’s obvious the team is full of D1 talent — with size, length, skill, shooting, and athleticism. They’re an entertaining watch, with their offensive and defensive styles. Offensively, they push the ball and flourish in the fast-break game. There’s length and shooters in abundance with this team as well. Defensively, they wreak havoc on opposing guards with a 3/4 court press/trap. In this post, I’m writing as I see things, so some of the content may be broken up and not entirely organized. This analysis is based off of North Tartans’ games versus Minnesota Fury 2024 Premier and MN Rise 2024 Purfeerst. Let’s breakdown the prospects and see how they fared at Lake Slam.
Game 1 – North Tartan 15U Nike 55 / Minnesota Fury 2024 Premier 41
Game 3 – North Tartan 15U Nike 55 / Crossfire 10 Bluestar (Schuck) 27

Maddyn Greenway Maddyn Greenway 5'8" | PG Providence Academy | 2026 State MN – #30 – 5’6 PG 2026 – Providence Academy – North Tartan – It’s hard not to like and appreciate Maddyn’s game and play-style. I could write all day on the positive traits in her game. Starts out the game as the leading point guard and is a big-time and impactful playmaker for North Tartan. Plays fast and quick all over the court. Can get to the hoop off the dribble and finish in traffic with both hands. Plays in a near-perfect defensive stance and can slide with the quickest of guards. Passes well in the lane. A legit reverse layup against MN Rise 2024 that most likely had people excited. Finished with 17 points in that game with two threes.
McKenna Johnson McKenna Johnson 6'2" | PF Mandan | 2025 State ND – #32 – 6’2 F/C 2025 – Mandan – North Tartan – I’m very familiar with McKenna, as she’s a prospect in my coverage state of North Dakota. She’s the #1 rated 2025 prospect in the state. Has a ton of upside and has D1 offers in the region, with major D1 offers coming her way in the near future. No-where near a finished product, McKenna was dominant in the highest class in North Dakota. She averaged a double-double in points and rebounds. Is the interior starter for the North Tartan team. She was a solid rim-protector, with her lateral movement helping as well. She was also playing defense away from the hoop and did a solid job on smaller guards. Against MN Rise, to start out the game, McKenna had a strong left-handed inside finish that drew an And-1. Blocked a shot early but a foul was called. Did a good job attacking the ball in the air and had another And-1 finish vs. Fury.
Abby Hoselton Abby Hoselton 5'11" | PF STMA | 2025 State MN – #23 – 5’11 F 2025 – STMA – North Tartan – The size, length, athleticism, and effort standout for Abby. Caught a lob pass and elevated for a steal that she high-pointed. It was an impressive play to say the least. Will move continuously and make basket-cuts. Rebounded well and will come up with offensive rebounds. Had a nice o-board and put-back. Able to rise-up and challenge opponents layups by adjusting or blocking shots. Plays with great quickness and athleticism at 5’11. Flies around contesting shooters. On offense, she’ll attack contact and use her athleticism to finish over the top of the defense.
Tori Schlagel Tori Schlagel 5'9" | CG Eden Prairie | 2025 State MN – #33 – 5’9 G 2025 – Eden Prairie – North Tartan – Good length at 5’9 and plays with effort. Plays a wing with solid handles. Has a hesitation game to her ball-handling repertoire. Tori can strongly attack the hoop going to her right hand. Finishes high with length. Fury had trouble staying in front of her. Tori had 13 points against MN Fury Premier, which led the team. Does a good job of rebounding and immediately pushing the ball up-court.
Gracie Winge Gracie Winge 5'10" | CG Lakeville North | 2025 State MN – #25 – 5’10 G 2025 – Lakeville North – North Tartan – Hit a corner three in the 2nd half of the Minnesota Rise victory. Finished with seven points in that game, and earned a couple easy buckets by moving and cutting without the ball. Had an easy anticipatory steal in the Fury game and kicked out to a shooter.
Hadley Thul Hadley Thul 6'2" | SG Alexandria | 2025 State MN – #21 – 6’1 G 2025 – Alexandria – North Tartan – An extremely lengthy guard at 6’1. The most noticeable length on the roster, Hadley uses that length well with her on-ball defense and she’ll play tightly. Will play with high hands to make passes difficult for her opponents. Played the top of the team’s 3/4 court press and trap, and was very effective, forcing many lob passes. Will deny her defensive assignment when the ball is dead. Glides up and down the court with ease.
Sophie Hawkinson Sophie Hawkinson 5'8" | CG Wayzata | 2025 State MN – #15 – 5’8 G 2025 – Wayzata – North Tartan – Has a beautiful looking three-ball that seemed consistently on-target. Hit a rhythm three off the pass. Showed a good handle on the ball, with some strong crossover and combination moves. Really liked Sophie’s game and her ability to shoot the ball with a quick, accurate release. Every shot she put up looked good. Has a pump-fake and drive to counter her three-point game.
Mylea Monahan Mylea Monahan 5'7" | CG Glencoe-Silver Lake | 2025 State MN – #1 – 5’7 G 2025 – Glencoe- Silver Lake – North Tartan – Hit an impressive deep rhythm three off the pass. It didn’t take her much time to get it off and it swished. Moves well without the ball and made a quick cut for an easy layup in a half-court setting. Had the same play, where she cut for another easy layup in the 2nd half vs. MN Rise. Hit another rhythm corner three in the 2nd half vs. MN Rise. Overall, the team shot the three well in that game, and Mylea was no exception. Had a straight line-drive finish in the Fury game. It looked smooth and easy.
Lanelle Wright Lanelle Wright 5'8" | PG Minnetonka | 2026 State MN – #10 – 5’7 PG 2026 – Minnetonka – North Tartan – Lanelle is a quick 2026 point guard that comes off the bench for North Tartan. Pushes the ball and plays at a high tempo, and you’ll rarely, if ever, see her walk the ball up the court. Like the entire roster, Lanelle plays quick defensively and will fly around —nearly all-out contesting shooters — without fouling of course. Hit a wide open three from the wing vs. Fury.
Bree Bowman Bree Bowman 6'2" | SF Prior Lake | 2025 State MN – #11 – 6’2 F 2025 – Prior Lake – North Tartan – The 6’2 wing/forward is the #4 ranked 2025 prospect in Minnesota. She uses her length to maximum advantage and showed us this weekend that she is a defensive weapon all over the floor. Bowman is also an elite shooter with a ton of range and a nice stroke. She handles the ball at speed and makes good decisions and this weekend was attacking the basket with high frequency. There’s a reason Bowman holds multiple Division 1 offers as a freshman with more on the way.
