Who is your go-to player late in the game? Who is that clutch player that gets big buckets? This is a big debate that gets heated in the basketball world. Here are a handful of players that had ice in their veins in Iowa:
Savannah Weiss Savannah Weiss 5'1" | PG Fairview | 2025 State CO | BC Denver
Savannah had the biggest shot of them all this weekend! Down 2 with just seconds left, she hit a three from WNBA range to give BC Denver 2025 the win in a competitive matchup against Omaha Supreme. Check out the atmosphere and shot below:

Izzie Adorno Izzie Adorno 5'7" | SG Erie | 2024 CO | Colorado Sparks
Colorado Sparks 2024 had wins by 3 points and 6 points this weekend due in large part to the play of Izzie. She hit some big time shots from deep with really good form and accuracy. Izzie also had some big steals that led to points and wins for her team. Her team constantly trusted her to take big shots in key moments.
Kya Johnson Kya Johnson 5'8" | SF Kickapoo | 2024 State MO | DC Queens
DC Queens went 4-0 with an impressive lineup that feautured multiple playmakers. Kya was one of the main reasons for those W’s as she does it all! In crunch time, she can: get a bucket, grab a significant board, drop a dime, or come up with a big steal. Her game is so smooth and she’s so well-rounded with one of the best jumpers I saw in Iowa.
Taylee Wharton | Omaha Supreme
Taylee can score it from anywhere. In one of the games I watched, she had 5 points down the stretch in about 10 seconds. She hit a touch stepback three, and had a great shot fake to get around her defender for a 10-footer with her left hand. The rising Sophomore is absolutely someone you look for in those final moments of a game.
Camdyn Kay Camdyn Kay 5'10" | CG Dubuque Hempstead | 2024 State IA | Iowa Prep
Camdyn was a player I noticed right as I walked in the gym. She’s got really good length and athleticism as a versatile hooper. If her team needed a bucket, Camdyn was always there and willing to get points for her team no matter how tough the situation. I really like her feel for the game and ability to score at all three levels no matter the pressure of the game.
The Triumph Region of the PGH Circuit will head to Spartanburg SC for the Triumph Region Finals next weekend.
