I did see our four Victory Region teams and will report on those teams this week. Plenty of players to write about including my upcoming feature on some point guards from the weekend and my All-Tournament team.
Today, a look at some of the players I got to see today as the Live event came to a close.
Jim’s Day 2 Standouts
Jadelynn Freeman, 2026, Michigan Goonies 2024
Hard-nosed player who stays with the play, and from what I saw she gets after it. Solid on the boards and looks to make the big play for her team on either side of the ball. She has good handles. Young player who has a good future ahead of her.
Camdyn Kay, 2024, Iowa Prep 2024 Platnum
Enjoyed watching their game vs Let it Rain with several solid players on display. Camdyn showed excellent footwork around the rim and can put the ball on the floor to create. Has solid handles and possesses good court awareness. One thing I noticed was how well she distributes the ball. She has a good basketball IQ.
Abbey Inda, 2024, Let it Rain 2024 Black
She is a player who just knows how to make things happen for her team. Is able to get the ball to the rim with excellent body control and handles, knows how to play well downhill. She is a solid perimeter threat from behind the arc and has solid handles. Can finish with either hand. (feature photo above)
Ellie Demet, 2024, Let it Rain 2024 Black
Another outstanding player from a team that was impressive this weekend, going 4-0 in the event. Ellie is a guard who can slash and score and does a good job getting to her open spots. She moves well without the ball, is creative and can play through contact. Solid defender.
Paula Strzelecki, 2025, A2Zoe Basketball Elitę 2023
This long, athletic wing did a good job around the rim, can catch and shoot well in the paint. Able to put the ball on the floor and get baseline around her defender with good handles. She moves well without the ball, sees the floor well and is able to defend multiple positions.
Talyah Beard, 2025, Michigan Goonies 2023
Loved this kids intensity and ability to use her athletic frame and pressure to create turnovers for her team. She is a scrappy guard who maneuvers well around the rim. Has quick hands which also leads to a strong defensive presence. Good tough around the rim, can play physical. (pictured left)
