After playing host to a few hours of hoops on Friday, the Iowa West Field House just outside of Omaha was the venue for a full day’s worth of basketball the following day. Teams from plenty of states including Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas and Colorado converged on the Hawkeye State for the weekend’s festivities.
The second day of the weekend tournament had no shortage of top performers. Here is who stood out on Saturday.
Sania Jenkins – 2024 – Narrabeen Sports Academy – P.L.U.T.O. Prospects 2023 – Jenkins had an outstanding showing last month at The Exclusive in Chicago and continued her stellar Circuit play into Prep Girls Hoops Live. There is always a high probability Jenkins will put the ball through the basket when it is in her hands. She brings a height advantage as well as a length advantage with her wingspan. The ability to sink 3-pointers and make things happen at the free throw line as well as on defense are other integral elements to her overall game. Jenkins mustered a 21-point effort in a 57-41 victory over DW3 Elite 2023 to run P.L.U.T.O. Prospects 2023’s record at the time to an unblemished 3-0.
Jacy Rohr – 2023 – Liberty HS – P.L.U.T.O. Prospects 2023 – The lioness that is Rohr has roared her way to a stellar career with the Lancers – both as a basketball player as well as on the soccer pitch. Rohr will get crafty and creative with how she can finish around the rim and sets herself up in great position near the basket to haul in rebounds. She also is not afraid of contact and will find her way to the free throw line. In addition, Rohr is tough to contend with as a defender and will hustle to prevent another team’s potentially easy basket. She had 14 points as P.L.U.T.O. Prospects 2023 ran its mark to 3-0 with a 57-41 win over DW3 Elite 2023.
Courtney Auld – 2023 – Lewis-Palmer HS – P.L.U.T.O. Prospects 2023 – Auld is anything but a lone Ranger – she is part of a talented Lewis-Palmer bunch that earned a berth in the 4A state playoffs and advanced to the second round. Not only is she a scorer, she is also a rebounder as well. At 5-foot-5, she has no problems drawing contact and having extra opportunities at the free throw line. Auld is gifted as a 3-point shooter – as she drained a trio of treys in her team’s Saturday matchup with DW3 Elite 2023 – a 57-41 win for P.L.U.T.O. Prospects 2023. She tallied 10 points in total for the game.
Daneijah Wynn – 2024 – Lawrence North HS – DW3 Elite 2023 – No matter how it is spelled, Wynn is a great last name to have if one is an athlete. In addition to basketball, she runs track and the skills she gets from track translate to the basketball court seamlessly. She will shoot 3-pointers and also does not shy away from contact that can put her at the free throw line. Wynn runs the floor efficiently and uses her 5-foot-11 height advantage to convert on high-percentage shots near the rim either in a halfcourt offense or in transition. She scored 10 points in DW3 Elite 2023’s matchup with P.L.U.T.O. Prospects 2023.
Kaycee McCumber – 2025 – Farmington HS – Arkansas Athletes Outreach Flight 2025 – At an even six feet, McCumber manages to combine the natural height advantage she has with scoring ability and athleticism. She will call for the ball in transition – a sign of the confidence with which she approaches every game she plays. McCumber also gets plenty of rebounds, will win her fair share of battles on the boards and is an unselfish player who knows when to score and when to pass – even when she is in perfect position in the paint. McCumber was one of the team leaders to victory on Saturday when her team faced off against Air Minnesota 2025.
Marin Adams – 2025 – Farmington HS – Arkansas Athletes Outreach Flight 2025 – The travel team early Saturday got a major lift from the Farmington connection when her team matched up with Air Minnesota 2025 which resulted in a win for Arkansas Athletes Outreach Flight 2025. Adams can make accurate passes in the transition game, can get creative with how she handles the ball and can intercept passes on defense. Adams will also put her fair share of points on the board along with her ball distributing skills. In addition to what she does on the basketball court, she also excels in her track career.
Ajiem Agwa – 2025 – Austin HS – Air Minnesota 2025 – Agwa proved to be the key catalyst that kept Air Minnesota 2025 in the game vs. Arkansas Athletes Outreach Flight 2025 when it looked like her team would be routed. She can put points on the board from virtually anywhere on the floor, but her skill goes beyond what she accomplishes as a scorer. Agwa will prevent easy layups from opposing ball carriers, can collect a number of rebounds and is an all-around tough player. She is also a ball hawk who can take advantage of an opponent’s miscue and potentially go the other way with the rock. Agwa is 5-foot-7 and is one of two Packers on the Air Minnesota 2025 roster.
Charley Hill – 2026 – Allison Traditional Magnet MS – Kansas Bluejays 2026 – The will to win is within Hill. She displays that will in plenty of ways – whether it is with how she is a consistent threat to steal the ball, how she can drain her attempts from deep and how her scoring versatility includes the ability to drive to the rim while weaving through defenders. She is one of the taller members of the roster at 5-foot-9 and is the only player on the team from Allison Traditional Magnet MS. Hill finished with 14 points in what was a lopsided 47-26 victory for Kansas Bluejays 2026 over the Missouri-based DC Queens 2026 assembling.
Sarai Graham – 2028 – Urban Preparatory Academy – Kansas Bluejays 2026 – Graham is playing up not only one but two full classes. She was in the middle of plenty of plays for her team when Kansas Bluejays 2026 earned an emphatic win over DC Queens 2026. Graham is not afraid of contact and will take her opportunities at the free throw line. As effective as Graham can be from free, she also can be from three as she is a long-range shooter. Graham finished with 10 points in what was a 47-26 decision for Kansas Bluejays 2026 for Missouri-based DC Queens 2026.
Madelynn Erdmann – 2025 – Crandon HS – Wisconsin Blaze 2025 Red – Erdmann is a two-sport athlete who has also competed in cross country events throughout her athletic career. As she displayed in her team’s matchup with Arkansas Athletes Outreach Flight 2025, she is a smart player and managed to keep herself out of foul trouble. Erdmann can also come through as a 3-point shooter and plays the role of a true one or two. She finished with 11 points in that game which occurred on Saturday afternoon. With talents like her as part of the Crandon roster, exciting times should be ahead for the Cardinals’ girls basketball program.
Kaia Kirkeby – 2025 – Mayo HS – Air Minnesota 2025 – Speaking of athletes who partake in other sports, Kirkeby’s name is one that comes up within Minnesota soccer conversations as it does in its basketball circles. She is a defensive stalwart who is consistently a threat to steal the ball. A true point guard, she will slice her way past defenders en route to the basket. Kirkeby can make tough shots as well as those from the free throw line on the heels of drawing contact. Kirkeby concluded her game with Omaha Supreme Basketball 2025 Wharton with a 12-point effort in a win for Air Minnesota 2025.
Taylee Wharton – 2025 – Bellevue West HS – Omaha Supreme Basketball 2025 Wharton – When travel play commenced, Wharton was fresh off of a 2021-22 season with the Thunderbirds that saw them finish with a 18-7 record as well as a berth in the Class A playoffs. Wharton can be accurate from 3-point land as well as accurate from the free throw line. She also can display a great deal of speed and quickness with the ball in her hand and can get from one end of the floor to the other as a transition scorer and playmaker. She finished with 13 points in what was a hard-fought matchup with Air Minnesota 2025.
Olivia Mortensen – 2025 – Legacy HS – BC Denver 2025 – At the outset of the travel season, Mortensen was riding a wave of momentum after a breakout freshman season that saw her average 10.3 points, six rebounds and 2.2 steals for the Lightning. The 5-foot-9 guard uses her length and wingspan to her advantage. She is a consistent threat to steal the ball, will shoot and hit her 3-point attempts and understands how to play the transition game. Mortensen closed out BC Denver 2025’s Saturday at Iowa West Field House in emphatic fashion with a 20-point effort in what was a 46-21 rout of Wisconsin Blaze 2025 Red.
Kinley Birt – 2026 – Central DeWitt HS – Quad City Shockers 2025 – Birt’s travel team picked up its second victory of the weekend tournament when it defeated Omaha Supreme Basketball 2025 Thompson by a final of 37-34 in one of the last games of Day Two of Prep Girls Hoops Live. She is a threat to knock down her attempts from deep and is also a skilled ball handler. Birt also plays the game with a high basketball IQ and can keep herself away from foul trouble. She only had two personals called against for the game in addition to the 12 points she scored to lift her team to victory.
Abby Smook – 2025 – Papillion Lavista HS – Omaha Supreme Basketball 2025 Thompson – Smook gives it all every game. In Omaha Supreme Basketball 2025 Thompson’s matchup with Quad City Shockers at the tail end of Friday’s list of games, she scored 12 points in what was a hotly contested matchup. All 12 of her points came via the 3-pointer as she nailed four triples. She stands at 5-foot-9 – one of the taller members of the travel team. Smook will stay active on the court even when she does not have the ball in her hands and will put herself in position to haul in rebounds.
Lucy Fierro – 2025 – Westview HS – Omaha Supreme Basketball 2025 Thompson – Fierro is the only Westview player listed on the AAU team’s roster. Fierro is listed at 5-foot-2 and manages to find her footing on a team that is plentiful in size. She is not afraid to take on defensive assignments against opponents that could be taller than her. Fierro keeps her hands outstretched on many occasions as a defender and can match an opposing ball carrier step for step and move for move. She has an ability to switch on who she is defending along with putting points on the board. One way that she does that is by attacking the basket. She had 10 points in her team’s matchup with Quad City Shockers 2025 as part of Saturday’s slate of games.
