The first Prep Girls Hoops Circuit tournament in the Peach State has started off with a bang as so much talent was on display. The guard play was what stood out and the speed on display was unreal. Day 1 did not disappoint. Here are the 16U players that stood out on the night.
Reghan Williams Reghan Williams 5'6" | PG Ezell-Harding | 2025 State TN I 5’7 I SG I 2025 I Team Elite FIE 2024
Williams is a floor general that never stops working on both ends of the floor. When her team needed a basket, she wanted the basketball in her hands. A player that can score at all 3 levels. Knows how to take what the defense gives her. Has one of the nicest mid-range games I have seen in a long time. I loved her ability to push the ball in transition and stop on a dime for the pull up jump shot. A game changer. Standout performer that finished with 17 points in Game 1.
Hailey Jones I 5’4 I PG I 2025 I Bounce Nation FBC 2024 Jay
Jones is the energizer bunny that gets everyone going. In Game 1 she was all over the court sacrificing her body for loose balls and rebounds. Knows how to get to the basket and finish through contact. A player that is always moving around to get easy scoring opportunities. A slasher that knows how to get to the rim and create fouls which allow her to get to the free throw line. Always looking to be in scoring mode which allows her easy opportunities around the rim. A player that can rebound well for her size.
Indigo Brown Indigo Brown 5'10" | SG Eagle's Landing | 2025 State GA I 5’10 I Wing I 2025 I Bounce Nation FBC 2024 Jay
Brown is a player that does all the little things. Always the first player to a loose ball and can rebound with the best of them. She showed her ability to score through contact in Game 1. A player that works every possession. She extends plays with her ability to rebound. Finishes well at the rim. Her ability to get out in transition leads to a lot of easy baskets at the rim. Solid defender. Finished with a standout performance with 18 points in Game 1.
Natalya Hodge I 5’6 I PG I 2026 I 865 Elite 2024
Hodge is a guard that is always playing downhill. She sees the floor well and can score at will. Her ability to handle the basketball allowed her to escape the press. A one woman press break with her ball handling skills. Speedy guard that can get to the rim and score through contact. When the drive is taken away, she showed her ability to hit the outside shot. Hard to believe that Hodge is still in middle school as her game is far ahead of her age. Led her team in scoring in Game 1 with 18 points. A player that will make some noise this spring and summer.
Kennedy Armistead I 5’1 I PG I 2024 I Lady Grinders 2024
Armistead is the leader of her team and showed that she can control offense. Her speed always her to slash through the defense and score at the rim. She sees the floor well and knows how to set her teammates up for scoring opportunities. Her quickness allowed her to get out in the passing lanes and create turnovers. She also hounded her opponents from rim to rim. When the drive is taken away, she has a nice floater around the rim which allows her to score over bigger opponents. A player that continues to grow from tournament to tournament.
Riley Bensman I 5’7 I SG I 2024 I E33 Eagles 2024
Bensman is a player that is always moving without the basketball. She is a tough player to defend as she needs only a little bit of space to get the 3 ball off. Can knock down the 3 ball consistently but also has a good instinct of reading the defense. If you take away the 3 ball, she has the ability to cut back door and score at the rim. Also has a nice pull up jump shot. What stood out to me was her ability to play both ends of the floor. A player that puts pressure on you as soon as you cross halfcourt.
Jayla Whitsey I 5’6 I PG I 2024 I Alabama Twisters Elite 2024
Whitsey is a true floor general with a high IQ at the guard spot. She is a player that is always in the right place at the right time. From diving on the floor to crashing the boards she does it all. A hard-nosed defender that puts pressure on her opponents 94 ft which lead to some easy transition scoring opportunities. Uses her body well to get to the basket and score through contact. Has the ability to score at all 3 levels which makes it tough for her opponents to guard her.
Morgan Scott Morgan Scott 5'10" | PF Hilton Head Christian | 2024 State SC I 5’9 I SF I 2024 I H2 Lowco 2024
Scott is a beast on the boards as she is a walking double double. Showed her ability to post strong on the block and finish at the rim. Runs the floor well and is always in position to score. Soft touch around the rim and knows how to use her body to pin the defenders on the block. Rim protector and knows how to rebound and outlet to her teammates so they can push in transition. A player that can step out and defend the wing. Has the ability to play inside/out.
